Allen spent the bulk of his career with the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs, with short stints at the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1790172375\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>While Allen offered many thanks during his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Dyv6Z77cQPs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acceptance speech<\/a> to the teammates, coaches, and fans who supported him throughout his time on (and off) the field, it&rsquo;s his <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JonnyRoot_\/status\/1951788069671120929\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">remarks<\/a> about his faith and family that are drawing the most attention. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking to his wife Amy, the former NFL player recalled advice he heard when the two of them were going through premarital counseling that &ldquo;the two most important decisions you&rsquo;ll make in life is 1) whether you follow Jesus or not, and 2) is who you marry.&rdquo; He went on to credit his wife for being a &ldquo;true game-elevator,&rdquo; adding that he is in &ldquo;awe of [her] every single day.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Turning his focus to his daughters, Allen spoke about personal &ldquo;legacy,&rdquo; and how both of them are his &ldquo;greatest accomplishments&rdquo; in life. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When I get called home to heaven one day, if all they talk about is this gold jacket, my career, then I failed miserably as a father, a husband, and a friend,&rdquo; Allen said. &ldquo;You two are my legacy. You are both so talented, and I cannot wait to see what you decide to do to conquer this world. So, always put Christ first, find your &lsquo;why,&rsquo; dream big dreams, and always pursue greatness in whatever you do.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The poignant remarks came after Allen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Dyv6Z77cQPs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cited<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians%204%3A11-12&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Philippians 4:11-12<\/a> when thanking his father for his unwavering support and encouragement. <\/p>\n<p>Allen&rsquo;s speech is a stark reminder that, for all the money, fame, and fortune in the world, it is finding salvation in Christ and leaving a lasting legacy by means of being a successful husband and father that are truly the most meaningful accomplishments.
