Plot Next Move\">redistricting plan<\/a>. Over 51 Democrats left for Chicago to break quorum and delay approval of a new congressional map that favors Republicans. Their departure was reportedly facilitated by Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/david-weiss-wanted-hunter-biden-charged-in-dc-prosecutor-confirms-to-congress\/\" title=\"David Weiss requested charges against Hunter Biden in Washington, DC, as confirmed by a prosecutor in Congress.\">offered logistical support<\/a>. Paxton called the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >lawmakers&#8217; actions cowardly<\/a> and urged authorities to use every legal means to bring them back. The Democrats&rsquo; mass exodus was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/politics\/elections\/texas-democrats-head-illinois-deny-republicans-quorum-redistricting-rcna222743\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"reportedly\">reportedly<\/a> brokered by Gov. We should use every tool at our disposal to hunt down those who think they are above the law,&rdquo; he <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KenPaxtonTX\/status\/1952114350153490634\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"posted\">posted<\/a> on X.<\/p>\n<p>That threat follows Paxton&rsquo;s comments from last week on Steve Bannon&rsquo;s <em>War Room<\/em> podcast, in which he acknowledged the limitations of such arrests.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The House rules and the Senate rules both allow for these people to be arrested if they leave. &hellip; The challenge is, if they go out of state, we lose jurisdiction, and that &mdash; it&rsquo;s been a challenge in the past,&rdquo; the top Texas prosecutor said.<\/p>\n<p>The Texas Democrats, however, may be compelled to return regardless.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the threat of arrests, each lawmaker faces a $500-a-day fine for breaking quorum, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/monday-november-1st-2021\/\" title=\"Monday | November 1st, 2021\">potential legal action<\/a>. Gov. Greg Abbott (R-TX) can also continuously call for 30-day special legislative sessions in the event the state Democrats run out the clock on the current one, which is set to end on Aug. 19.<\/p>\n<p>The vote on the redistricting effort is set for 3 p.m. on Monday, and state House Speaker Dustin Burrows has <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Burrows4TX\/status\/1952119334626582851\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a> &ldquo;all options&rdquo; are on the table if Democrats fail to return to the State Capitol in Austin.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3489798\/texas-democrats-leave-state-halt-gop-redistricting-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"TEXAS DEMOCRATS LEAVE STATE IN EFFORT TO HALT GOP REDISTRICTING PLAN\">TEXAS DEMOCRATS LEAVE STATE IN EFFORT TO HALT GOP REDISTRICTING PLAN<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Paxton, in reposting Burrow&rsquo;s comment, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KenPaxtonTX\/status\/1952128515236860287\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"said\">said<\/a>, &ldquo;These radical Democrats are spitting in the face of every Texan they swore to represent.
