Then so did Shannon Sharpe.<\/p>\n<p>Less than two weeks after Sharpe settled a $50 million lawsuit accusing him of rape, ESPN has decided that it will not bring back the former NFL tight end, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6525499\/2025\/07\/30\/shannon-sharpe-lawsuit-settlement-espn-first-take\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Athletic<\/a>, a division of The New York Times. The report relied on sources that were not named.<\/p>\n<p>The suit was filed in April. But I&rsquo;ve never been as big as I am right now.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/tyson-beats-rape-allegations-thoroughly-suit-can-never-filed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> against Sharpe claimed the NFL Hall of Famer &ldquo;violently sexually assaulted and anally raped Plaintiff&rdquo; in October of last year, and again in January of this year in Las Vegas, &ldquo;blatantly ignoring her requests for him to stop,&rdquo; according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2025\/07\/30\/sport\/shannon-sharpe-out-at-espn-spt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CNN<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p data-uri=\"cms.cnn.com\/_components\/paragraph\/instances\/cmdqe4t2d00093b6ncod5v5di@published\" data-editable=\"text\" data-component-name=\"paragraph\" data-article-gutter=\"true\">&ldquo;After many months of manipulating and controlling Plaintiff &mdash; a woman more than thirty years younger than he &mdash; and repeatedly threatening to brutally choke and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-angel-reese-takes-anger-out-on-coach-in-on-court-tantrum\/\" title=\"Watch: Angel Reese Takes Anger Out on Coach in On-Court Tantrum\">violently slap<\/a> her, Sharpe refused to accept the answer no and raped Plaintiff, despite her sobbing and repeated screams of &lsquo;no,&rsquo;&rdquo; the civil suit said.<\/p>\n<p>Sharpe has said sex between him and the woman who sued him was consensual.<\/p>\n<p>The end of the lawsuit was announced on July 18. No terms were disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;On April 20, 2025, The Buzbee Law Firm filed a complaint in Nevada making several allegations against Shannon Sharpe on behalf of our client. Both sides acknowledge a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stunning-50-million-lawsuit-against-nfl-legend-and-espn-host-is-suddenly-over\/\" title=\"Stunning  Million Law... All matters have now been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed. The lawsuit will thus be dismissed with prejudice,&rdquo; he wrote.<\/p>\n<p>Lanny Davis, who represented Sharpe when the lawsuit was filed, said in April that Sharpe had offered the woman $10 million as a settlement, but that was rejected.<\/p>\n<p>Davis said the plaintiff was a willing participant, according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/07\/30\/sports\/shannon-sharpe-out-at-espn-after-settling-50-million-rape-lawsuit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Post<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The evidence paints a clear picture: this was a consensual, adult relationship that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/uvalde-cops-had-active-shooter-training-just-weeks-before-elementary-school-massacre\/\" title=\"Uvalde Cops Had \u2018Active Shooter\u2019 Training Just ...
