As part of the settlement,Brown agreed to contribute $50 million over ten years to workforce growth organizations and to end programs based on race-based outcomes,quotas,or diversity targets. The university also committed to maintaining women-only and men-only spaces and sports teams, ensuring that athletic facilities for female student-athletes remain strictly separated by sex. education Secretary Linda McMahon praised the deal as a victory for merit-based evaluation and the enforcement of Title IX as originally intended. The administration has investigated about 60 colleges, including Brown, Columbia, and Harvard, over discrimination and harassment concerns, threatening to withhold federal funds. In April when the administration froze $510 million in federal education funding, Paxton said Brown would remain committed to meeting its obligations in following the law.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;&ldquo;The Trump Administration is successfully reversing the decades-long woke-capture of our nation&rsquo;s higher education institutions,&rdquo; Secretary of Education Linda McMahon&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ed.gov\/about\/news\/press-release\/secretary-mcmahon-statement-brown-university-deal\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said<\/a>&nbsp;in a statement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration from day one has aspired to judging students based on their merits not race or gender, McMahon added.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Brown has committed to proactive measures to protect Jewish students and combat Antisemitism on campus. Women&rsquo;s sports and intimate facilities will be protected for women and Title IX will be enforced as it was intended,&rdquo; the secretary said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The administration has threatened universities that federal education funding could be taken away over Title VI violations.
