It was so important that the FBI spent nine hours searching President Donald Trump&rsquo;s Florida home, meticulously rifling through even Melania Trump&rsquo;s clothing and arranging documents marked &ldquo;secret&rdquo; on the floor to create a damning photo op, even though Trump had the power when president to declassify the documents.<\/p>\n<p>It was obviously politically motivated. Otherwise, the FBI would have been just as alarmed when it later learned <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/01\/18\/9-questions-the-white-house-should-answer-about-bidens-classified-document-scandal-but-wont\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden had classified documents<\/a> in his Delaware garage. The Department of Justice (DOJ) did a little investigation, wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/storage\/report-from-special-counsel-robert-k-hur-february-2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>, and decided, &ldquo;No criminal charges are warranted&rdquo; for Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Yet for Trump, Biden&rsquo;s weaponized DOJ seized boxes of documents and, just in time for the presidential election, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/storage\/US-v-Trump-Nauta-De-Oliveira-23-80101.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">indicted<\/a> Trump and dragged him through a year in court before dismissing the case in July 2024. After Trump took office again in 2025, the boxes of documents were returned to him.<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I just personally loaded the infamous &ldquo;boxes&rdquo; back onto Air Force 1 to head home where they belong. Documents related to the FBI&rsquo;s involvement in former President Barack Obama&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/28\/details-buried-in-recently-declassified-docs-further-implicate-obama-in-russia-hoax\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Russia collusion hoax. <\/a>Documents by the thousands, hidden in a secret FBI room and stuffed in burn bags, meaning they were marked for destruction. According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/patel-found-thousands-sensitive-trump-russia-probe-docs-inside-burn-bags-secret-room-fbi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fox News Digital<\/a>, FBI Director Kash Patel has given the documents to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa.<\/p>\n<p>Stack that on top of the June revelation that the FBI agents <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/06\/senate-judiciary-expands-probe-into-fbis-ability-to-hide-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hid federal documents<\/a> within the FBI&rsquo;s computer system by coding them &ldquo;Prohibited Access,&rdquo; thereby making them invisible in searches. A keyword search for these hidden documents in the FBI&rsquo;s computer system would not be enough to find them. Trump has made no indications that he intends to destroy federal records. It is clear from the indictment that Trump never hid the fact that he had the documents, and now that the election is over, no one seems bothered that Trump has the documents again.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, the FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/06\/senate-judiciary-expands-probe-into-fbis-ability-to-hide-documents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hid and destroyed<\/a> documents, and when asked to provide documents for investigations, the FBI has been <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/17\/senators-demand-obama-era-inspector-generals-cooperation-in-probe-of-j6-undercover-agents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">uncooperative<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are valid reasons to keep certain documents hidden. For example, if making a document public causes a threat to national security, outs undercover law enforcement, or if the information could destroy an ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n<p>But the FBI and other DOJ agencies have abused their authority, hiding information that should have been public. The measure for hiding a document should not be, &ldquo;Will this kill my career if it gets out?&rdquo; or &ldquo;What are the political implications of this information being made public?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Good, bad, or ugly, it is always right to speak the truth, and it is the people&rsquo;s right to understand all aspects of the government it funds. The criteria to classify a document as secret must err on the side of keeping the public informed. In truth, many of the documents being released in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/netanyahu-faces-chaos-in-us-anger-in-israel-and-threats-from-iran-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Netanyahu faces chaos in US, anger in Israel, and threats from Iran - Washington Examiner\">recent weeks &#038;mdash<\/a>; <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/10\/exclusive-henchmen-behind-brennans-fake-russia-collusion-assessment-are-still-at-the-cia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deep<\/a> state <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/30\/exclusive-clapper-crew-threatened-whistleblower-who-refused-to-sign-off-on-fabricated-intel-assessment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">documents<\/a> related to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/07\/cia-review-reveals-obama-pushed-intel-community-to-launch-trump-russia-witch-hunt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rigging<\/a> the U.S. election &mdash; &nbsp;do not meet the standard for classified materials. They were hidden only because they were embarrassing, and possibly criminal.<\/p>\n<p>Devin Nunes, chair of the President&rsquo;s Intelligence Advisory Board, recently told Maria Bartiromo on Fox News&rsquo; <em>Sunday Morning Futures<\/em> that he believes the FBI raided Mar-a-Lago because they were looking for the recently declassified <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/07\/23\/house-investigators-obama-officials-ignored-intel-contradicting-russia-collusion-narrative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">intelligence community assessment<\/a> that details the Obama Administration&rsquo;s apparent effort to sabotage Trump&rsquo;s first term as president with the bogus Russia collusion narrative.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><span><\/p>\n<blockquote data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<div lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\n<p>Devin Nunes nailed it this morning with a question every American should be asking: Why was Mar&#8209;a&#8209;Lago raided?<\/p>\n<p>The Left says it would be unprecedented to prosecute Barack Obama, yet they already crossed that line by targeting President Trump, a man who committed no crime. <\/p>\n<p>They&hellip; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/FVH0MkwV5V\">pic.twitter.com\/FVH0MkwV5V<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&mdash; Wesley Hunt (@WesleyHuntTX) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WesleyHuntTX\/status\/1949496922227527734?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 27, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><\/span> <\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<p>&ldquo;Why was there a raid at Mar-a-Lago?
