the outlet reported.<\/p>\n<p>Campaign finance rules prohibit using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/gop-reps-introduce-omar-act-to-crackdown-on-lawmakers-who-channel-campaign-funds-to-spouses\/\" title=\"GOP reps. introduce \u2018OMAR Act\u2019 to crackdown on lawmakers who channel campaign funds to spouses\">campaign accounts<\/a> to pay the fines, but Democrats are already plotting how to circumvent that.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Rep. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jasmine-crockett-tries-shutting-article-reporter-goes-direction-doesnt-like-didnt-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Jasmine Crockett<\/a>, a Democrat from Texas, suggested lawmakers could accept donor money as income.<\/p>\n<p>One estimate put the cost of a quorum break at $1 million per month, a figure donors say they can handle.<\/p>\n<p>Crockett told the outlet she did not believe the fines would hold up in court.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think that the first step would be to make sure that there are attorneys on deck to actually challenge the legality of these rules,&rdquo;
