\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>The law, passed in September 2023 and signed by Democratic Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/gavin-newsom-whines-federal-appeals-court-rules-unprecedented-ammunition-law-goes-far\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Gavin Newsom<\/a>, created a so-called &ldquo;Fast Food Council.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>That council was tasked with setting minimum wages and workplace standards for the fast-food sector, as Fox Business noted in its in-depth <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/media\/study-shows-californias-20-minimum-wage-hike-cost-state-18000-jobs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">analysis<\/a> of the study.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The hourly minimum wage for fast food restaurant employees shall be twenty dollars ($20) per hour, effective April 1, 2024,&rdquo; the bill read.<\/p>\n<p>By contrast, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-california-fast-food-workers-now-earn-20-per-hour-franchisees-responding-cutting-hours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fast-food<\/a> employment grew slightly across the rest of the country.<\/p>\n<p>The researchers noted that fast food jobs in other states rose by 0.10 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Before the law, California&rsquo;s fast-food employment was on par with the national trend.<\/p>\n<p>But California is nothing if not consistent &mdash; as in consistently inefficient, consistently ideological, and consistently broke.<\/p>\n<p>From <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-california-sues-over-1b-in-canceled-high-speed-rail-money\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a rail line to nowhere<\/a>, to fire hydrants with no water in the middle of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/dei-cripple-la-fire-departments-response-wildfires-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">wildfire<\/a> season, to endless handouts for illegal immigrants, California&rsquo;s government finds ways to fail.<\/p>\n<p>Now, Gavin Newsom has managed to make fast food even worse, while also making it more expensive.<\/p>\n<p>In April, I ordered Wendy&rsquo;s in Hollywood.
