The rebate amount could increase depending on the total tariff income from other countries. This legislation follows president Donald TrumpS suggestion to use tariff funds to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/stimulus-update-payment-worth-up-to-1250-delivered-within-seven-days\/\" title=\"New stimulus update: ,250 payment in 7 days.\">give money back<\/a> to the people. Hawley emphasized that Americans deserve a tax rebate after economic challenges under the Biden administration. The bill includes income thresholds, above which rebates would be reduced by 5%, and extends eligibility to all adults and dependent children. While the bill could pay $600 or a number determined by the tariff revenue, whichever is higher, there are select income levels at which a rebate would be reduced.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Sen. (AP Photo\/Rod Lamkey, Jr.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>If a joint return reports $150,000 or more, a head of household at $112,500, or anyone else at $75,000 or more, that person would be subject to a 5% reduction. Any adult or dependent child is eligible for the money.<\/p>\n<p>The bill was framed after COVID-19 stimulus legislation Hawley worked on with Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) during the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>The Treasury Department reported that the United States brought in around $27 billion in tariff funds in June.
