Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia, has recently expressed growing criticism of Donald Trump despite her alignment with the MAGA movement. In May 2025, Greene publicly voiced frustration with Trump on several issues, including the potential for war with Iran, increased aid to Ukraine, COVID-19 policies, accountability for January 6 detainees, and election integrity. She warned that losing her support meant losing the broader MAGA base.

In June,Greene regretted voting for a Trump-backed spending bill (“Big Lovely Bill”) after discovering it included a clause that restricted states’ ability to regulate artificial intelligence (AI) for ten years. She opposed this as a violation of state rights but later praised efforts to remove that provision.

Following President Trump’s July 2025 executive order promoting American AI technology exports, Greene reiterated her concerns, emphasizing the need to protect state rights, jobs, human rights, the surroundings, and water resources. She criticized the order for advancing rapid AI expansion without sufficient safeguards and highlighted environmental issues related to data center construction and water consumption.

Greene’s outspoken stance against certain Trump policies reflects rising tensions within the MAGA movement and illustrates the political risks she faces by openly challenging Trump’s leadership.

Can you spell MAGA without MTG?

Outspoken Rep.
