Lombardi claims that the loud noise from the Blue Angels&#8217; annual airshows, where F\/A-18E\/F jets fly at <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >high speeds creating extreme decibel levels<\/a>, caused severe distress to her elderly cat, contributing to Layla&#8217;s death in August 2024. She alleges that the noise amounted to &#8220;state-sanctioned acoustic torture.&#8221; After posting numerous critical comments on the Blue Angels&#8217; Instagram page about the airshow&#8217;s impact on her pet and local wildlife, Lombardi was blocked by the squadron, which she argues violated her First Amendment rights.As part of the lawsuit,she seeks legal fees,reinstatement of her Instagram commenting privileges,and First Amendment training for the defendants. Lombardi claimed that the terror caused by the &ldquo;state-sanctioned acoustic torture&rdquo; coupled with Layla&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/former-jaguars-and-purdue-lineman-uche-nwaneri-found-dead-at-38-from-congestive-heart-failure\/\" title=\"Uche Nwaneri, a former Jaguars and Purdue Lineman, has died at 38 from congestive heart failure\">congestive heart disease<\/a> was the reason for her death.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning in August 2023, Lombardi began complaining about the airshow, taking to the group&rsquo;s Instagram page and leaving numerous comments. Ben Bushong, the public affairs officer for the Blue Angels; and a social media administrator who went unnamed.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Cat mom accuses Blue Angels of terrorizing her dying 14-year-old cat with &lsquo;sonic barrage&rsquo; practices: &lsquo;It terrified her so much&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9b5GcYYzEV\">https:\/\/t.co\/9b5GcYYzEV<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/KsKUJGNpkv\">pic.twitter.com\/KsKUJGNpkv<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; New York Post (@nypost) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/nypost\/status\/1948701503838945664?\">July 25, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>It further stated, Lombardi &ldquo;engaged in a familiar American pastime of complaining to her government about her government&rsquo;s actions through her government&rsquo;s social media accounts.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These thin-skinned bureaucrats blocked Lombardi from commenting any further, thereby muzzling an American citizen while simultaneously blinding the broader public from witnessing legitimate grievances against their government,&rdquo; the lawsuit said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Every August was good until then, but no August would ever be the same again. Layla&rsquo;s condition continued to deteriorate and she left home again, for the final time.
