U.S. District Judge Robin Rosenberg explained that courts are generally prohibited from releasing grand jury testimony and noted that the government had not sought thes records as part of an active judicial proceeding. She ordered a new case be created to make the government&#8217;s request and her denial public, but closed the original petition.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump DOJ is also pursuing unsealing transcripts from other federal investigations into Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell in New York, tho this ruling dose not affect those requests. The move follows public criticism about the DOJ&#8217;s transparency on Epstein-related facts.Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche has filed petitions to release transcripts in three related cases and plans to meet with Maxwell and her attorney.<\/p>\n<p>Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. However, she directed that the government&rsquo;s original July 18 petition to unseal the records be closed.<\/p>\n<p>The Justice Department under President Donald Trump is attempting to unseal grand jury transcripts in the mid-2000s criminal case, as well as from later federal investigations into Epstein and his former girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell in New York. Rosenberg&rsquo;s order does not implicate the other pair of requests.<\/p>\n<p>Following weeks of public criticism about the DOJ&rsquo;s stated intent to stop releasing more Epstein-related information, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche filed petitions last week to unseal transcripts in three related cases.<\/p>\n<p>Blanche announced his plan on Tuesday to meet with Maxwell and her attorney, Miami-based lawyer David Oscar Markus, in the &ldquo;coming days.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;President Trump has told us to release all credible evidence.
