Habba, who was appointed by former President Donald Trump and served as a counselor to him, had her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/who-is-alina-habba-trumps-pick-to-be-new-jerseys-u-s-attorney\/\" title=\"Who is ..., Trump&#039;s pick to be New ...s U.S. ...?\">120-day interim term expire<\/a> while awaiting Senate confirmation. Despite support from senior DOJ officials praising Habba&#8217;s efforts in New Jersey,judges politically opposed to her appointment removed her in favor of her deputy,Grace. In response,the DOJ swiftly removed Grace from the position,emphasizing that the department would not tolerate judicial interference that undermines the President&#8217;s authority. Accordingly, the First Assistant United States Attorney in New Jersey has just been removed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This Department of Justice does not tolerate rogue judges &mdash; especially when they threaten the President&rsquo;s core Article II powers,&rdquo; she added.<\/p>\n<p>Grace was Habba&rsquo;s first assistant before her elevation to the position. Federal law grants district judges the authority to name a U.S. attorney if the Senate does not act on the nominee within 120 days.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s unclear what the Department of Justice&rsquo;s plans are for Habba or if she will retake the position. The judge in Baraka&rsquo;s case slammed Habba for bringing the charges.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The hasty arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, followed swiftly by the dismissal of these trespassing charges a mere 13 days later, suggests a worrying misstep by your office,&rdquo; U.S. Magistrate Judge Andr&eacute; Espinosa&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/static01.nyt.com\/newsgraphics\/documenttools\/efac447cca427fab\/943935cd-full.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>. &ldquo;An arrest, particularly of a public figure, is not a preliminary investigative tool. It is a severe action, carrying significant reputational and personal consequences, and it should only be undertaken after a thorough, dispassionate evaluation of credible evidence.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>More DOJ officials backed Habba.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3478711\/alina-habba-replaced-top-prosecutor-new-jersey\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">ALINA HABBA REPLACED AS NEW JERSEY&rsquo;S TOP PROSECUTOR<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The district judges in NJ just proved this was never about law&mdash;it was about politics,&rdquo; Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a post on X. &ldquo;They forced out President Trump&rsquo;s pick, [Habba], then installed her deputy, colluding with the NJ Senators along the way. It won&rsquo;t work. Pursuant to the President&rsquo;s authority, we have removed that deputy, effective immediately.
