Khalil was previously arrested and detained for 104 days in Louisiana amid a crackdown on pro-Palestine protests during the Gaza war. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security accused him of being a Hamas sympathizer,a label Khalil disputes,insisting his activism centers on protesting the war in Gaza.
