In the survey from <a href=\"https:\/\/mclaughlinonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">McLaughlin &amp; Associates,<\/a> 39% said it was &ldquo;more of a tax cut,&rdquo; and 39% called it &ldquo;more of a spending bill.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Graphic courtesy McLaughlin &amp; Associates<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In addition, support was split. McLaughlin said 44% supported the bill while 42% didn&rsquo;t.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;President Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >pro-growth tax cuts passed<\/a> and that&rsquo;s what counts, but we know work has to be done,&rdquo; said pollster John McLaughlin, who has polled for Trump.<\/p>\n<p>The White House and Treasury Department have already begun to push back on the negative spin from the Democrats and media, building a case that in opposing the legislation, liberals favored massive increases on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-signals-support-for-amazon-workers-vote-to-unionize\/\" title=\"Biden Signals Support For Amazon Workers\u2019 Vote To Unionize\">working-class voters<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A key element in the bill was extending the Trump tax cuts made in his first administration. Asked if they were told that taxes would have increased if the Democrats got their way and killed the bill, 45% said they would be less likely to vote for Democrats next year, versus 23% who said they would.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The left-of-center legacy media misled and provided misinformation on Trump tax cuts. They tried to define it as a spending bill, not tax cuts,&rdquo; said McLaughlin.<\/p>\n<p>He also told Secrets, &ldquo;The big challenge for us to overcome heading into the midterms is to prove legacy media misinformation wrong.
