Trump called for Schiff to be prosecuted in a manner similar to attempts made against Trump himself, which Trump claims were baseless and politically motivated hoaxes. Schiff&#8217;s office defended the practice as routine for a traveling member of Congress and dismissed trump&#8217;s accusations as political retaliation. Schiff, who played a prominent role in Trump&#8217;s first impeachment trial, criticized trump&#8217;s claims as baseless and aimed at distracting from controversies surrounding the handling of Jeffrey Epstein-related files. and an attempt to distract from the conservative fallout over the administration&rsquo;s handling of the Epstein files.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Since I led his first impeachment, Trump has repeatedly called for me to be arrested for treason,&rdquo; Schiff posted online. &ldquo;So in a way, I guess this is a bit of a letdown. And this baseless attempt at <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >political retribution won&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t stop me from holding him accountable.
