Sharpe denied the claims, labeling them false and a shakedown.After extended negotiations,both parties have reached a settlement agreement,leading to the dismissal of the lawsuit with prejudice,meaning the woman cannot refile the same claim. Following the lawsuit, Sharpe temporarily stepped away from ESPN but planned to return by the preseason. Las Vegas police stated they did not investigate sharpe regarding the allegations. \t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Dismissal with prejudice means the woman whose name was not released cannot file the same <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nfl-stars-teams-kick-hamlins-charity-big-names-given-1000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">claim<\/a> again against Sharpe, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6503264\/2025\/07\/18\/shannon-sharpe-settles-rape-lawsuit\/\">The New York Times<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit had <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/prince-andrew-to-seek-u-s-sexual-abuse-case-dismissal\/\" title=\"Prince Andrew to Seek U.S. Sexual Abuse Case Dismissal\">sought  million<\/a> for &ldquo;pain and suffering, psychological and emotional distress, mental anguish, embarrassment and humiliation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit claimed Sharpe raped the woman two times in October 2024 and again in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Sharpe was accused of recording the two having sex without the woman&rsquo;s consent more than once.<\/p>\n<p>Sharpe was accused in the lawsuit of physically abusing the woman during their relationship, including choking and hitting her.<\/p>\n<p>The suit claimed Sharpe threatened the life of the woman.<\/p>\n<p>Lanny Davis, who represented Sharpe when the lawsuit was filed, said in April that Sharpe had offered the woman $10 million as a settlement, but that was rejected.<\/p>\n<p>As noted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/shannon-sharpe-settles-sexual-assault-lawsuit\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NBC<\/a>, after the suit was filed, Sharpe had stepped away from his work at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/black-commentators-blast-nyt-claiming-travis-kelce-invented-fade-haircut-forgetting-1-massive-detail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ESPN<\/a> but said he would be back by the start of the preseason.<\/p>\n<p>Sharpe had called the claims &ldquo;false and disruptive,&rdquo; and also once called the lawsuit a &ldquo;shakedown,&rdquo; according to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/crime\/courts\/lawyer-lawsuit-that-accused-former-nfl-star-of-rape-in-las-vegas-is-settled-3398456\/?utm_campaign=widget&amp;utm_medium=section_row&amp;utm_source=homepage&amp;utm_term=Lawyer%3A%20Lawsuit%20that%20accused%20former%20NFL%20star%20of%20rape%20in%20Las%20Vegas%20is%20settled\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Las Vegas Review-Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The lawsuit said the woman met Sharpe at a gym in 2023 when she was 20.
