Woodward has denied those claims, saying he never agreed to the restrictions.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Trump Tapes<\/em> contained<a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.flnd.456079\/gov.uscourts.flnd.456079.1.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> 19 interviews <\/a>Woodward conducted with Trump at the White House and Mar-a-Lago between December 2019 and August 2020, as well as one interview he did with the president in 2016.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Woodward is known as a<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/washington-secrets\/3364531\/liberal-media-bob-wodward-trump-destroy-economy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> deep Trump skeptic<\/a>, painting unflattering portraits of the president in multiple books, including, most recently, his 2024 book, <em>War<\/em>, which<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3182204\/woodwards-bombshell-book-pulls-back-the-curtain-on-bidens-tempestuous-approach-to-israel-trumps-affinity-for-putin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> came out<\/a> as the president was running for reelection last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the time, the Trump campaign labeled the book &ldquo;the work of a truly demented and deranged man who suffers from a debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">President Donald Trump speaks during a dinner for Republican senators in the State Dining Room of the White House, Friday, July 18, 2025, in Washington.
