\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>The release states that the calls were made between Oct. 11, 2023, and Jan. 21 of this year &mdash; a day after Trump was inaugurated for his second term and began with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-implements-immediate-federal-hiring-freeze-amid-flurry-executive-actions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">string of executive orders<\/a> aimed at building national security and reducing the size of the government.<\/p>\n<p>A Capitol Police investigation found &ldquo;the phone calls were made from various phone lines connected to studios and control rooms at Voice of America headquarters, where Jason had worked as a longtime employee,&rdquo; She&rsquo;s a firebrand, with a record of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/democratic-rep-cries-racist-explosive-hearing-confrontation-marjorie-taylor-greene\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mixing it up<\/a> with leftists on Capitol Hill. And some of her moves can be seen as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/marjorie-taylor-greene-vows-strip-key-defense-bill-no-provisions-go-israel\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">going crosswise<\/a> with the Trump administration, too, or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/marjorie-taylor-greene-comes-tucker-carlsons-defense-trump-lobs-harsh-insult\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">even with Trump himself<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But her statement made it clear that the kind of calls she was receiving were over the line.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Threatening an elected official, their family, or their staff is not free speech,&rdquo; her statement said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s a crime, and it must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law &hellip; Justice must be served.<\/p>\n<p>The DOJ news release describes Jason as &ldquo;former&rdquo; employee of VOA, but it wasn&rsquo;t clear when his employment with the agency ended. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/seth-jason-3482b410a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">His account<\/a> on the social media platform LinkedIn indicates that it&rsquo;s current.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aacounty.org\/police-department\/about-us\/news\/police-press-release-july-17-2025\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">news release<\/a>, the Anne Arundel County Police Department confirmed that Jason had served as a reservist for the department, but noted pointedly that reservists &ldquo;are unarmed and have no police authority.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Voice of America has not published a post to its <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/VOANews\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">X account<\/a> since March, when Trump effectively <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-orders-media-outlet-pushed-divisive-propaganda-years-eliminated-maximum-extent\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dismantled the agency<\/a>, along with its sister agency, Radio Free Europe.
