The Corn Refiners Association expressed concerns that switching to cane sugar would harm American food manufacturing jobs, reduce farm income, and increase imports of foreign sugar, without offering any nutritional benefits.Currently, Coca-Cola uses HFCS in the U.S. due largely to agricultural subsidies and its lower cost, even though some international Coke products use cane sugar.
