She had been involved in prosecuting Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. Her dismissal comes amid political tensions, following President Donald Trump&#8217;s criticisms and claims that the Epstein files are a &#8220;Democrat-led scam.&#8221; Trump accused Comey, along with former Presidents Obama and Biden, of fabricating evidence related to the Epstein case. Conservative influencer Laura Loomer had previously called for Maurene Comey and her husband to be removed from the DOJ. Following her firing, prosecutors showed support for Maurene Comey, escorting her out of the office. Her firing comes after President Donald Trump has attacked anyone pushing for the release of the Epstein files, declaring the documents a Democrat-led &ldquo;scam.&rdquo; His rhetoric on the files has stunned his supporters, who believed the administration was vigorously pursuing their release.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The [FBI] can look at this Jeffrey Epstein hoax. &hellip; That&rsquo;s all put out by Democrats,&rdquo; he told Real America&rsquo;s Voice Wednesday. &ldquo;Some of the naive Republicans fall right into line like they always do. They don&rsquo;t have the sustainability.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3471820\/trump-accuses-epstein-files-made-up-by-comey-obama-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Trump also said on Tuesday <\/a>that the files were made up by James Comey and former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden.<\/p>\n<p>Conservative influencer Laura Loomer, who holds some influence over Trump, <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/lauraloomer\/status\/1924195103842984073?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said in May<\/a> that &ldquo;Pam Blondi&rdquo; had been allowing Maurene Comey and her husband, Lucas Issacharoff, to work at the Southern District of New York.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Both Maurene Comey and Lucas Issacharoff need to be FIRED from the DOJ immediately. If Blondi refuses to fire them, she should RESIGN,&rdquo; she said.
