Clark appeared to hurt herself while turning to run back on defense after assisting a teammate. This injury forced her to leave the game visibly in pain and emotional, sitting on the bench with a towel over her head as the Fever secured an 85-77 victory. Clark had earlier returned from a previous groin injury that sidelined her for five games and had been subjected to intense physical play and repeated targeting by opponents throughout the season. Fever head coach Stephanie White acknowledged the high level of physicality aimed at Clark and expressed concern over her safety, noting that the WNBA has yet to address these issues.
