Former first lady Jill Biden&rsquo;s longtime adviser,&nbsp;Anthony Bernal,&nbsp;and the former president&rsquo;s personal physician,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kevin-o-connor\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kevin O&rsquo;Connor<\/a>, however, reversed their agreements to cooperate and were later subpoenaed. Bernal is scheduled to appear for an interview on Wednesday, one week <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3467320\/watch-biden-doctor-refuse-to-answer-questions-house-oversight\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">after O&rsquo;Connor pleaded the Fifth Amendment<\/a> under closed-door questioning.<\/p>\n<p>The Oversight Committee&rsquo;s work is running parallel to a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Senate investigation<\/a>&nbsp;led by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ron-johnson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sen. Ron Johnson<\/a> (R-WI), the chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee&rsquo;s investigative subpanel. Johnson told the&nbsp;<em>Washington Examiner<\/em>&nbsp;in an interview that he will soon demand access to thousands of emails sent in the final days of Biden&rsquo;s presidency, which may reveal how <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >senior officials handled clemency petitions<\/a> and signed documents on Biden&rsquo;s behalf.<\/p>\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/national-archives\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">National Archives<\/a>&nbsp;has already turned over many of those emails to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/department-of-justice\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Justice Department<\/a>&nbsp;as part of a criminal inquiry requested by President Donald Trump, who alleges that the Biden team used an autopen without proper authorization to shield top allies and family members from prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>, a spokesperson for the National Archives said that, under the Presidential Records Act, &ldquo;there are provisions allowing for special access by Congress, the courts, and the incumbent President.&rdquo; For other Freedom of Information Act requests by the public, there is a five-year delay following the end of an administration.<\/p>\n<p>House investigators are also expected to interview&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/ron-klain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ron Klain<\/a>, Biden&rsquo;s former chief of staff, who played a key role in the administration&rsquo;s final clemency decisions.
