Yet the 18th Judicial District Attorney&rsquo;s Office intends to dismiss the case due to mental competency issues, KDVR-TV in Denver <a href=\"https:\/\/kdvr.com\/news\/local\/das-office-planning-to-drop-charges-in-alleged-aurora-kidnapping-attempt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the crime <a href=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/nation-world\/video-shows-moment-sex-offender-allegedly-tried-to-kidnap-child-from-colorado-school-aurora-black-forest-hills-elementary-cherry-creek-school-district-solomon-galligan-crisis-in-the-classroom\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">being captured<\/a> on video surveillance, Galligan was administered a mental competency evaluation and was deemed unfit to stand trial.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s super scary to watch,&rdquo; Dante White, whose child was near the suspect during the incident, told Fox News Digital. &ldquo;Especially seeing the perpetrator, the pictures of him. I would be freaked out if that guy touched me. That&rsquo;s still unclear, and hasn&rsquo;t been widely reported on. For one thing, we know he isn&rsquo;t facing a trial or headed to prison.<\/p>\n<p>If this is what the law says, however &mdash; that a registered sex offender can skate after a criminal act &mdash; perhaps the law needs to be changed for circumstances such as these.<\/p>\n<p>The 18th Judicial District is led by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/discarded-cable-news-leftists-now-sounding-alarm-2026-midterms-due-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">far-left Democratic<\/a> prosecutor Amy Padden. The DA&rsquo;s office has been quoted as saying it is &ldquo;required by law&rdquo; to drop a case when defendants &ldquo;are found mentally incompetent to stand trial.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>However, this isn&rsquo;t Padden&rsquo;s first brush with controversy.<\/p>\n<p>Aurora City Councilwoman Danielle Jurinksy said last week that she is launching a campaign to recall Padden, mainly for offering a plea deal to an illegal alien teenager, who was driving 90 miles per hour through a neighborhood, when he smashed into another car, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illegal-alien-killed-24-year-old-woman-gets-ridiculous-light-sentence-triggering-backlash\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">killing<\/a> a 24-year-old woman, <a href=\"https:\/\/denvergazette.com\/aurora\/danielle-jurinsky-aurora-councilwoman-vows-recall-election-amy-padden-district-attorney\/article_8cdd8e10-a9b7-4d4d-93ec-1765a8d8bc4c.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to the Denver Gazette.<\/p>\n<p>The teen reportedly was detained by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ice-agents-found-california-marijuana-farm-raid-made-whole-thing-worth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Immigration<\/a> and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>During a public safety committee meeting Thursday, Jurinsky said this decision by Padden was &ldquo;unacceptable.&rdquo; Jurisnky said she is in contact with the family of the victim, Kaitlyn Weaver.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Amy Padden will have been in office for six months this coming Monday, which makes her eligible for recall,&rdquo; Jurinsky said. &ldquo;I do plan on honoring the life of Kaitlyn Weaver.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>She added, &ldquo;Justice will be served in one way or another and that will begin this coming Monday, July 14.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The illegal teenager was offered a sweetheart deal of two years&rsquo; probation, 100 hours of community service, and a requirement to attend school and to not break the law.<\/p>\n<p>Unreal.<\/p>\n<p>Why is there a bizarre trend among far-left district attorneys letting hardened criminals, illegals, and dangerous lunatics back onto the streets?<\/p>\n<p>Many DAs who exhibit this soft-on-crime behavior have received funding from the liberal megadonor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/alert-j6ers-trouble-soros-da-move-path-throw-back-jail\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">George Soros<\/a>, his organizations, or the Soros family.
