York said this would be a &ldquo;really weird electoral result,&rdquo; but Mamdani would win if this becomes a reality.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3469097\/mamdani-socialist-nyc-mayor-candidate-all-sides-rising-to-take-him-on\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>MAMDANI VS EVERYBODY: SOCIALIST NYC MAYOR CANDIDATE HAS ALL SIDES RISING TO TAKE HIM ON<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, a Republican, said Sunday that the New York election could indicate the Democratic Party will lean <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3469796\/gop-showcase-big-beautiful-bill-makes-life-better-2026-midterms-mccarthy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">toward a more &ldquo;socialist wing.&rdquo;<\/a> He said his party&rsquo;s victory in both New York and Los Angeles preceded the 1994 &ldquo;revolutions of the Republicans. &ldquo;<\/p>\n<p>Adams trails both Cuomo and Sliwa in polling but said last week that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3464024\/eric-adams-reveals-cuomo-asked-him-to-drop-out-highest-level-of-arrogance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">he intends to &ldquo;mobilize a million new voters&rdquo;<\/a> to take on Mamdani.
