The suspect then fled to Richmond Road Baptist Church, where the situation escalated, resulting in two deaths and several injuries, including the trooper. The suspect was ultimately killed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/the-red-wave-of-conservative-women-elected-to-congress\/\" title=\"The Red Wave of Conservative Women Elected to Congress\">law enforcement<\/a>. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear expressed heartbreak over the tragedy, offering prayers for the victims and gratitude to the police and emergency responders. Andy Beshear (D-KY) shared the updated death toll from the shooting in a post on X at 4:30 p.m. Eastern time.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m heartbroken to share the shooting in Lexington at Richmond Road Baptist Church has taken the lives of two people. Other injuries &mdash; including a Kentucky State Police trooper from the initial stop &mdash; are being treated at a nearby hospital. The shooter has also been killed,&rdquo; Beshear <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/GovAndyBeshear\/status\/1944494631116227001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">posted<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He added, &ldquo;Violence like this has no place in our commonwealth or country. Please join Britainy and me as we pray for the families of those lost, each one a child of God gone too soon. Kentucky, let&rsquo;s stand strong together and support our Lexington neighbors during this difficult time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Kentucky State Police responded to the trooper-involved shooting incident before noon on Sunday, when they secured the suspect at the church.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At this time, we can confirm that the trooper is receiving medical attention. There are multiple victims at the church, and EMS is on scene.
