The lawsuit, Perdomo v. Noem, alleges that federal agents are conducting racially motivated, suspicionless stops and warrantless arrests without individualized assessments and that detainees face poor conditions and are denied access to legal counsel. If permitted to intervene,Los Angeles and its partners would actively participate in the case by presenting evidence and advocating for a temporary restraining order. Noem,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aclusocal.org\/sites\/default\/files\/vasquez_perdomo_v_noem_-_first_amended_petition_and_complaint.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">claim<\/a>&nbsp;federal agents are making &ldquo;suspicionless stops based on racial profiling&rdquo; and &ldquo;warrantless arrests without an individualized determination of flight risk.&rdquo; They also claim detainees are subject to poor conditions, and that the right to counsel was denied by not allowing the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles access to detainees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CHRLA is a pro-immigration advocacy group that&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/california\/article_da8e5cdd-cab2-411f-b108-973ab59750e0.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">received<\/a>&nbsp;$35 million in taxpayer funding.
