It criticizes the Biden administration&#8217;s promotion of gender ideology without age limits and notes thousands of minors have undergone gender-related surgeries in recent years. The piece also remarks on growing skepticism from within the LGBTQ+ community regarding unproven treatments.<\/p>\n<p>It concludes that while some states actively protect children from gender ideology, others continue to impose it, sparking ongoing legal challenges. The Supreme Court is expected to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >continue safeguarding constitutional rights related<\/a> to religious freedom and free speech in this debate. The authors emphasize that society will eventually question how such controversial practices affecting vulnerable youth were allowed to unfold.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>For the past decade, the United States has witnessed an enormous spike in transgender identification among youth that, for some, entailed strange and dangerous experiments with their bodies. This term, the&nbsp;Supreme Court, thankfully, intervened.&nbsp;In three key cases,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/23-477_2cp3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>U.S. v. Skrmetti<\/em><\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/24-297_4f14.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Mahmoud v. Taylor<\/em><\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/23-1122_3e04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Free Speech Coalition v. Paxton<\/em><\/a>, SCOTUS protected children from the fantasies of gender ideology and its biological consequences.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>These decisions reject the manipulation of the law in the service of gender ideology and hold ideologues in government accountable. In so doing, the court also safeguarded childhood.<\/p>\n<p>In&nbsp;<em>Skrmetti<\/em>, the court upheld Tennessee&rsquo;s ban on medical &ldquo;transitions&rdquo; for minors, rejecting the ACLU&rsquo;s argument that the law violated the Equal Protection Clause.&nbsp;As Chief Justice Roberts <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/23-477_2cp3.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">explained<\/a> for the 6-3 majority, the law &ldquo;does not classify on any bases that warrant heightened review.&rdquo; He wrote: &ldquo;The mere use of sex-based language does not sweep a statute within the reach of heightened scrutiny.&rdquo; Nor did the application of the law &ldquo;turn on sex.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trans activists hoped <em>Skrmetti<\/em>&nbsp;would do&nbsp;for gender ideology what&nbsp;<em>Roe<\/em>&nbsp;and its progeny for decades did for abortion. This Supreme Court wasn&rsquo;t falling for it. Much like the court did in&nbsp;<em>Dobbs v. Jackson Women&rsquo;s Health Organization<\/em>,&nbsp;the decision in <em>Skrmetti<\/em>&nbsp;refused to weaponize the Constitution to block Tennessee from sensibly regulating experimental and highly suspect &ldquo;interventions&rdquo; on confused children.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tennessee is not alone in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/scotus-rules-in-favor-of-teen-who-cursed-online-and-was-suspended-off-cheerleading-team\/\" title=\"SCOTUS Rules In Favor Of Teen Who Cursed Online And Was Suspended Off Cheerleading Team\">protecting young people<\/a> from gender ideologues in white coats. More than half of the states have laws limiting such practices on minors. After&nbsp;<em>Skrmetti<\/em>, lawmakers in remaining states can confidently join them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The court also affirmed Texas&rsquo; right to demand age verification protections for online pornography in&nbsp;<em>Free Speech Coalition<\/em>. Minors have &ldquo;long been thought to be more susceptible to the harmful effects of sexually explicit content,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/23-1122_3e04.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">observed<\/a> Justice Clarence Thomas for the majority.&nbsp;Applying a heightened level of judicial scrutiny, the court concluded that &ldquo;Age verification laws like H.B. 1181 fall within States&rsquo; authority to shield children from sexually explicit content.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Given the strong&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/personandidentity.com\/transgenders-connection-with-pornography-its-undeniable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">correlation<\/a>&nbsp;between online pornography exposure and gender dysphoria, we believe that protections like Texas&rsquo; are necessary to best safeguard healthy sexual development.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in&nbsp;<em>Mahmoud<\/em>,&nbsp;the court <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supremecourt.gov\/opinions\/24pdf\/24-297_4f14.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vindicated<\/a> parents of faith in Montgomery County, Maryland who wished to shield their very young children from indoctrination. The school board&rsquo;s failure to provide notice and opt-out options for parents &ldquo;interferes with the religious development of petitioners&rsquo; children and imposes &hellip; [a] burden on religious exercise,&rdquo; wrote Justice Samuel Alito for the majority.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Granted, the parents were only asking for notice and the opportunity to opt their children out of gender ideology in the classroom. Ridding schools of this nonsense will require a change in the composition of school boards. Thanks to the brave parents in&nbsp;<em>Mahmoud<\/em>, voters in Montgomery County now realize it should be possible to protect all the children in their public schools.<\/p>\n<p>For all of the good that states like Tennessee and Texas are doing, several other states continue to force gender confusion on the most vulnerable children. Religious parents with traditional beliefs about human sexuality, for example, are brazenly excluded from fostering children in states like <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.org\/press-release\/oregon-blocks-mom-adopting-children-because-her-faith\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Oregon<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.org\/article\/vermont-imposes-gender-ideology-litmus-test-foster-parents\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Vermont<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/washington-couple-claims-state-denied-foster-care-license-belief-gender-fixed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Washington<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/becketfund.org\/case\/burke-v-walsh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Massachusetts.<\/a> Legal challenges to those practices are <a href=\"https:\/\/becketfund.org\/case\/burke-v-walsh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in the courts<\/a>&nbsp;and will likely reach the Supreme Court. When they do, expect the court to again reaffirm the Constitution&rsquo;s guarantees of religious freedom and free speech.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When the trans craze began, it was journalists like Abigail Shrier, <a href=\"https:\/\/manhattan.institute\/book\/irreversible-damage\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">author<\/a> of the 2020 book&nbsp;<em>Irreversible Damage<\/em>, who identified the trend of mentally struggling teenagers &mdash; disproportionately girls and young women &mdash; who were swept into digitally driven peer contagion. Shockingly,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/36248210\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">girls as young as 12<\/a>&nbsp;have undergone&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jamapediatrics\/fullarticle\/2674039\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">transgender mastectomies<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Detransitioners&rdquo; escaping from this nightmare have begun to <a href=\"https:\/\/view.knowledgevision.com\/presentation\/e79d6ec3b232442caa825c610f273a75\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">testify publicly<\/a> about how they were misled by therapists and doctors who put them on puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones. Most famously, detransitioner Chloe Cole&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=xqrSP9qug5Q&amp;t=1406s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">spoke&nbsp;<\/a>of her regret before Congress in 2023 on her 19th birthday, describing how the experimental drugs she was prescribed as an adolescent caused endocrine complications and sexual dysfunction. Surgeons amputated her breasts when she was only 15.<\/p>\n<p>Despite this, leftist propagandists in the Biden administration and Democrat-appointed judges obsessively promoted gender ideology on several fronts. Most egregiously, internal communications released last summer (as part of the discovery in the&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/adfmedia.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/marshalljointstipulateddismissal-1.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boe v. Marshall&nbsp;<\/a><\/em>case) showed former Assistant Health and Human Services Secretary Admiral Rachel Levine pushing&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/06\/25\/health\/transgender-minors-surgeries.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">against any age<\/a> minimums&nbsp;for trans-medical procedures.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The damage wrought by such delusional thinking is astonishing.&nbsp;Between 2019 and 2023, according to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/donoharmmedicine.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Do No Harm<\/a>&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/stoptheharmdatabase.com\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stop the Harm<\/a> database, 5,747 minors underwent so-called gender surgeries &mdash; and that&rsquo;s a low estimate, given that not all insurance systems could be measured. Thousands more children have been experimentally medicalized and may be rendered permanently sterile.<\/p>\n<p>Even <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/activist-loses-gay-marriage-cake-discrimination-case-involving-christian-baker\/\" title=\"Activist Loses &#039;Gay Marriage&#039; Cake Discrimination Case Involving Christian Baker\">gay rights activists<\/a> are starting to ask questions. In a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/06\/26\/opinion\/gay-lesbian-trans-rights.html?unlocked_article_code=1.Sk8.j_PK.Dpd6BCGAkIDx&amp;smid=nytcore-ios-share&amp;referringSource=articleShare\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">guest essay<\/a>&nbsp;for&nbsp;The New York Times, same-sex marriage advocate Andrew Sullivan wrote that males in women&rsquo;s sports and intimate spaces amounted to &ldquo;fighting&nbsp;a losing battle&rdquo; and that untested transgender medical procedures on children are &ldquo;dumb, offensive to common sense and risks a much bigger backlash.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The gender craze, built on specious claims about the nature of what it is to be human and targeting children, is&nbsp;losing in the Supreme Court and in the court of public opinion.
