The Department of Education previously found that the california Department of Education (CDE) and the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) were in violation of Title IX due to policies that force female athletes to compete against males and share private facilities with them. Despite a Resolution Agreement requiring California to change these policies-such as restricting participation based on biological sex-California refused to comply. The DOJ emphasizes that the physiological differences between males and females make such policies unfair and illegal, resulting in girls losing athletic opportunities, awards, and safe spaces. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>The Trump administration has responded to California&rsquo;s obstinately forcing men into women&rsquo;s sports with a Title IX lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice.<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Education has already found the California Department of Education (CDE) and California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/25\/education-department-california-systematically-violates-civil-rights-of-women-with-its-trans-obsession\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">in violation of Title IX<\/a>, but the entities have <a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2025\/07\/07\/california-ready-to-rumble-with-trump-to-keep-men-in-womens-sports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">refused to comply<\/a> with <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >federal civil rights law<\/a> in order to ensure the state can harm as many women as possible.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-958775228\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to the DOJ, the CDE has authority over the CIF, which oversees more than 750,000 student-athletes and 1.8 million students between the 9th and 12th grades.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Governor of California has previously admitted that it is &lsquo;deeply unfair&rsquo; to force women and girls to compete with men and boys in competitive sports,&rdquo; Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a Wednesday <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/justice-department-sues-california-violating-title-ix-denying-girls-athletic-opportunities\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a> announcing the lawsuit. &ldquo;But not only is it &lsquo;deeply unfair,&rsquo; it is also illegal under federal law. This Department of Justice will continue its fight to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/umaine-agrees-to-protect-womens-sports-after-funding-threat\/\" title=\"UMaine Agrees To ...&#039;s ... After Funding Threat\">protect equal opportunities<\/a> for women and girls in sports.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>California allows men to compete in women&rsquo;s sports and intrude on women&rsquo;s private facilities like restrooms and locker rooms, forcing females to undress in front of males. Since the Trump administration salvaged Title IX from the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/31\/trumps-education-department-ends-bidens-harmful-title-ix-social-experiment-on-children\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden administration&rsquo;s predatory gender theory goals<\/a> through executive orders, as well as a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/09\/court-strikes-down-bidens-title-ix-trans-overhaul-nationwide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">favorable court opinion<\/a>, California is in direct contravention of Title IX for its &ldquo;illegal sex discrimination against <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/judge-feds-misquoted-scotus-to-force-states-to-let-men-in-girls-restrooms\/\" title=\"Judge: Feds Misquoted SCOTUS to Force States to Let Men in ...&#039; Restrooms\">female student athletes<\/a>,&rdquo; the Department of Justice said. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The results of these illegal policies are stark: girls are displaced from podiums, denied awards, and miss out on critical visibility for college scholarships and recognition,&rdquo; the DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/crt\/media\/1407321\/dl?inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">lawsuit<\/a> states, adding that the policies &ldquo;eviscerate equal athletic opportunities for girls &hellip; [and] they also require girls to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/debunking-the-aclus-ridiculous-myths-and-facts-about-transgender-athletes\/\" title=\"Debunking The ACLU\u2019s Ridiculous \u2018Myths And Facts\u2019 About Transgender Athletes\">share intimate spaces<\/a>, such as locker rooms, with boys, causing a hostile educational environment that denies girls educational opportunities.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Education&rsquo;s 2025 fiscal year federal funding of the CDE is about $44.3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>When the Department of Education found California in violation in late June, it issued a Resolution Agreement, which would have required the CDE and CIF to change its policies entirely, including forbidding males to compete against women in women&rsquo;s only sports, as well as adopt an understanding of &ldquo;male&rdquo; and &ldquo;female&rdquo; based on biology, not bizarre political machinations like fealty to gender ideology.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The inherent physiological differences between the two sexes generally make them not similarly situated in athletics. These physiological differences exist regardless of a person&rsquo;s subjective &lsquo;gender identity,&rsquo;&rdquo; the lawsuit states. &ldquo;Because of these physiological differences, providing athletic teams, competitions, events, and intimate spaces for girls has long ensured that female student athletes are afforded an equal, and equally safe, opportunity to participate and effectively compete, and thereby to enjoy the same educational benefits from sports as boys.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, under the Resolution Agreement, California would have been required to send apology letters to each female athlete whose records and achievements were stolen by a male competing against them.<\/p>\n<p>After California was given 10 days to comply, it became obstinate in its refusal to protect women and girls at school and <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/EDSecMcMahon\/status\/1942299613387522437\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">rejected<\/a> the Resolution Agreement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Title IX was enacted over half a century ago to protect women and girls from discrimination. The Justice Department will not stand for policies that deprive girls of their hard-earned athletic trophies and ignore their safety on the field and in private spaces,&rdquo; Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon said. &ldquo;Young women should not have to sacrifice their rights to compete for scholarships, opportunities, and awards on the altar of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-administration-denies-biological-reality-issues-first-passport-with-x-gender-option\/\" title=\"Biden Administration Denies Biological Reality, Issues First Passport with &#039;X&#039; Gender Option\">woke gender ideology<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Breccan F.
