more concerns about efforts to conceal the former president&rsquo;s decline while in office. <\/p>\n<p>According to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., Biden physician Kevin O&rsquo;Connor pled the Fifth at his previously scheduled deposition with House lawmakers. The revelation came a day after the Trump administration <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3466195\/trump-waives-executive-privilege-biden-physician-kevin-oconnor-house-probe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">waived<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/constitution.congress.gov\/browse\/essay\/artII-S3-4-1\/ALDE_00013377\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive privilege<\/a> for O&rsquo;Connor to sit down with members of the committee for the transcribed interview. <\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1360717793\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>According to a House Oversight Committee official, O&rsquo;Connor did not simply plead the Fifth on questions related to <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >doctor-patient privilege<\/a>, but on <em>any and<\/em> <em>all <\/em>prospective queries posed by lawmakers. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The American people demand transparency, but Dr. O&rsquo;Connor would rather conceal the truth,&rdquo; Comer said in a <a href=\"https:\/\/oversight.house.gov\/release\/chairman-comer-statement-on-dr-oconnor-pleading-the-fifth\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statement<\/a>. &ldquo;Dr. O&rsquo;Connor took the Fifth when asked if he was told to lie about President Biden&rsquo;s health and whether he was fit to be President of the United States. Congress must <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-physician-invokes-fifth-amendment-for-house-deposition\/\" title=\"Biden physician invokes Fifth Amendment for House deposition\">assess legislative solutions<\/a> to prevent such a coverup from happening again.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>[RELATED:[RELATED:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/11\/why-joe-bidens-doctor-cant-legally-refuse-to-testify-about-bidens-dementia-while-president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Why Joe Biden&rsquo;s Doctor Can&rsquo;t Legally Refuse To Testify About Biden&rsquo;s Dementia While President<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As John Williams Sr. previously <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/10\/what-did-the-presidents-doctor-know-about-bidens-mental-decline-and-when\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> in these pages, O&rsquo;Connor oversaw three official annual examinations of Biden throughout his presidency, and &ldquo;When comparing these exams side by side, the common themes of omission, deflection, and misdiagnosis emerge, while issues of concern are painted in the best light possible.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It defies belief that while the American people questioned President Biden&rsquo;s cognitive and physical abilities, the physician to the president and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/health\/bidens-memory-issues-draw-attention-neurologists-weigh-rcna138135\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">other medical professionals<\/a>&nbsp;told us there was nothing to worry about,&rdquo; Williams wrote. <\/p>\n<p>O&rsquo;Connor is hardly the only former Biden White House official to forgo providing remarks to House lawmakers about Biden&rsquo;s decline after previously agreeing to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Late last month, the Oversight Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/26\/house-gop-subpoenas-top-biden-aide-after-he-refused-to-testify-about-joes-decline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subpoenaed<\/a> Anthony Bernal, a key aide to Joe and Jill Biden, following his refusal to speak with lawmakers. Similar to O&rsquo;Connor, Bernal did so after the Trump administration waived executive privilege for him to speak with the committee on his experiences in the Biden White House and interactions with the former president.<\/p>\n<p>The Oversight Committee also recently issued letters <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/27\/house-committee-demands-interviews-with-jean-pierre-top-biden-staffers-about-former-bosss-decline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">demanding<\/a> interviews with several other top Biden White House officials as part of its investigation into efforts to conceal Biden&rsquo;s decline from the American public.
