Reports from sources like CNN indicated that gas prices were at a four-year low for the holiday weekend, with the national average being $3.21 per gallon, approximately 23 cents less than the previous year. and they&rsquo;re trending lower,&rdquo; CNN&rsquo;s Matt Egan reported. &ldquo;This would be the lowest on Fourth of July for gas since at least 2021 &mdash; perhaps even since 2020 during COVID.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Of course, people are making more money, on average, than they did back then, so on an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-congress-should-investigate-joe-bidens-taxes\/\" title=\"How Congress Should Investigate Joe Biden\u2019s Taxes\">inflation-adjusted basis<\/a>, gasoline is swallowing up a smaller and smaller chunk of paychecks,&rdquo; the Journal reported on June 25.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Reduced prices would be a boon for consumers during the warmer months when Americans drive more. Low energy prices so far this year have already contributed to the economy&rsquo;s resilience and helped keep inflation in check,&rdquo; the report continued.<\/p>\n<p>Keep in mind this was the national average. In some localities, the price of gas was even lower. For example, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/gasprices.aaa.com\/?state=NC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AAA<\/a>, the average gas price in North Carolina was just $2.85 per gallon as of July 7.<\/p>\n<p>In Oklahoma, the average gas price were even cheaper at just $2.69 per gallon.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Traveling this week.
