As a result of the plea,Kohberger will face life in prison without the possibility of parole,thus avoiding the death penalty. The crime, which involved the brutal killings of Maddie Mogen, Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, and Xana Kernodle in their beds, captivated the nation and raised many questions about Kohberger’s motives, which remain unanswered.

The reactions from the victims’ families have been mixed; while some, such as the families of Mogen and Chapin, appreciate the plea deal as a means to avoid a lengthy trial, others, notably the families of Goncalves and Kernodle, expressed outrage at the lack of accountability and answers regarding the crime. Gerald Posner, an author and legal commentator, criticized the plea deal as “disgraceful,” emphasizing the need for truth for the families. Kohberger’s sentencing is set for July 23, where the families will have the prospect to speak, leaving the public still wanting to know why the murders occurred.

    Read more…

The legal drama around one of the most infamous crimes of the U.S. in the 21st century drew to an official close Wednesday with a guilty plea in a Boise, Idaho, courtroom.

Bryan Kohberger, the sole suspect in the bizarre murders of four University of Idaho students in November 2022, will face life imprisonment without possibility of parole after pleading in the case, the New York Post reported.

But he will escape the possibility of being sentenced to death.

For many Americans, there’s been little doubt about Kohberger’s guilt since his arrest shortly after the killings, but the development Wednesday left one huge question unsettled:

What was behind Kohberger’s savage crime?

     if ( getCookie( "ff_subbed" ) ) {     document.getElementById("stnvideo").remove()    } else {     document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function() {      function loadScript(src) {       const script=document.createElement("script");
