Vance&rsquo;s tiebreaking vote, voted on Tuesday to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, effectively defunding abortion giant Planned Parenthood for one year.<\/p>\n<p>The House version of President Donald Trump&rsquo;s legislative package <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/119th-congress\/house-bill\/1\/text\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">promised<\/a>&nbsp;that no Medicaid dollars &ldquo;shall be used to make payments to a prohibited entity for items and services furnished during [a] 10-year period.&rdquo; The Senate version, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/policy\/healthcare\/5377656-senate-gop-provision-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cut that provision down<\/a> to prohibit only twelve months of taxpayer-funded abortion.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-486373358\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>In a last-ditch effort to protect Planned Parenthood&rsquo;s flow of federal funding, Democrats tried to add a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/heavily-challenged-amendment-protecting-abortion-heads-to-michigan-voters-after-ruling-from-state-supreme-court\/\" title=\"Heavily-Challenged Amendment Protecting ... Heads To Michigan Voters After Ruling From State Supreme Court\">pro-abortion amendment<\/a> to the BBB. The motion failed in a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/libsoftiktok\/status\/1939798969879564358\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">49-51 vote<\/a> on Monday evening.<\/p>\n<p>During the same 2023-2024 period Planned Parenthood performed a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/13\/annual-report-planned-parenthood-aborted-more-babies-than-ever-got-more-taxpayer-cash-than-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">record number of abortions &mdash; more than 402,000<\/a> &mdash; the abortion business <a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/uploads\/filer_public\/21\/02\/2102bd3b-92cc-405a-8abd-0cf144a88846\/2024-ppfa-annualreport-c3-digital.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">collected<\/a> nearly $800 million in taxpayer funds.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&rsquo;s steady stream of taxpayer funding has no doubt contributed to its <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/13\/annual-report-planned-parenthood-aborted-more-babies-than-ever-got-more-taxpayer-cash-than-ever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">history<\/a> of ending unborn lives (or&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2013\/02\/07\/probe-demanded-of-planned-parenthood-doc-who-killed-woman-in-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">botching its attempts to<\/a>&nbsp;do so),&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2016\/06\/24\/new-evidence-planned-parenthood-broke-federal-law-lied-to-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly flouting federal law<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/lozierinstitute.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/plannedparenthood-profit-no-matter-what.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wasting tax dollars<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.heritage.org\/gender\/commentary\/dont-defend-planned-parenthoods-gender-affirming-care-defund-it\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dispensing castrating drugs<\/a>&nbsp;to confused minors, reportedly&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/11\/22\/report-planned-parenthood-caught-selling-viable-fetuses-to-university-of-california-san-diego\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">trafficking baby<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/04\/15\/new-unsealed-documents-show-planned-parenthood-profited-from-aborted-baby-body-parts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">body parts,<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/07\/20\/want-to-know-who-is-really-empowered-by-abortion-sex-traffickers-and-abusers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">enabling abusers<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/florida-investigation-of-planned-parenthood-clinics-finds-deficiencies-1438817376\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly performing unlicensed<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2016\/01\/29\/planned-parenthood-breaks-state-law-to-open-unlicensed-abortion-clinic-in-kentucky\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">procedures<\/a>&nbsp;and violating&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/6abc.com\/archive\/9059172\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">health<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/02\/15\/us\/planned-parenthood-clinics.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">safety standards<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.stlpr.org\/politics-issues\/2018-02-23\/protest-buffer-zone-at-st-louis-planned-parenthood-narrowly-earns-first-round-approval#stream\/0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposing free speech<\/a>, and allegedly conducting procedures that have resulted in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2012\/10\/09\/deaths-at-planned-parenthood-show-no-concern-for-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mothers&rsquo; deaths<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Terminating tax dollars from abortion businesses not only saves lives but opens the door for community health centers, which receive far less federal funding and already <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/07\/report-health-centers-that-care-for-women-outnumber-planned-parenthood-by-15-to-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outnumber<\/a> Planned Parenthoods 15 to 1, to continue outperforming abortionists. <\/p>\n<p>Several <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/KristanHawkins\/status\/1940100318961766909\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pro-life<\/a> organizations celebrated the upper chamber&rsquo;s passage of the Big Beautiful Bill as a key step to depriving the biggest abortion beneficiary of taxpayer money.<\/p>\n<p>SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser specifically <a href=\"https:\/\/sbaprolife.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/victory-senate-passes-bill-stopping-forced-taxpayer-funding-of-abortion-industry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">called<\/a> the move &ldquo;a crucial victory in the fight against abortion, America&rsquo;s leading cause of death, and an industry that endangers women and girls.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Those same organizations, however, are urging the lower chamber to <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LiveAction\/status\/1940104723396272462\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;finish the job&rdquo;<\/a> and keep the federal funding to abortion giants like Planned Parenthood quenched for a decade.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We urge the House to finish the work immediately so President Trump can sign it into law.
