If he lost the bet, he promised to treat the journalists to meals; if he won, they couldn&#8217;t ask him questions for a week. If he was wrong, the Oklahoma lawmaker told reporters he&rsquo;d buy them food next week. The latest marathon overnight session reflected the intense negotiations required to align the legislation with the priorities of 53 very different Republican senators &mdash; and to ensure it&rsquo;s compatible with the version House Republicans must vote on again.<\/p>\n<p>Much of the debate surrounds spending concerns and Medicaid reforms, while lawmakers overnight slashed a controversial provision prohibiting states from regulating artificial intelligence that House Republicans, such as Rep.
