It would put Mamdani into checkmate territory.<\/p>\n<p>To win the Democratic mayoral primary as a democratic socialist, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nyc-socialist-mamdani-calls-shifting-heavier-tax-burden-whiter-neighborhoods\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">foreign-born<\/a> state assemblyman had to cobble together a tenuous coalition &mdash; one that included a devout Muslim following as well as LGBT voters.<\/p>\n<p>If any journalist showed some spine and asked such an obvious question, one of two things would happen.<\/p>\n<p>Either <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/real-estate-agents-say-socialist-zohran-mamdanis-nyc-win-already-shocking-impact\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mamdani<\/a> would offend the LGBT community by defending his mosque&rsquo;s right to religious liberty in rejecting such unions, or he would bend the knee and kiss the ring of the LGBT lobby.<\/p>\n<p>This would almost certainly offend his Muslim allies and put him into a lose-lose situation.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s utterly fascinating that a man who subscribes to such a strict and specific faith would be propelled to victory by a party made up of so many liberal voters.<\/p>\n<p>The breakdown includes third-wave feminists, socialists, atheists, and those who identify as anything but heterosexual. How does that mix with his upbringing and religious values?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/24-years-9-11-nyc-dems-pick-muslim-defends-terror-hates-israel-mayor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Mamdani<\/a> comes from Uganda. This is a country that had an <a href=\"https:\/\/ajws.org\/press-releases\/ugandan-court-overturns-anti-homosexuality-law\/?gad_source=1&amp;gad_campaignid=22260383953&amp;gbraid=0AAAAADxBH8lpbrgygMPfkh0hMHCYQHGm3&amp;gclid=Cj0KCQjw64jDBhDXARIsABkk8J4dxOv3lKIkk0JqS26vZB9oiDZ8IP6wKUuylm8nk3JXnfOejbbBstgaAjouEALw_wcB\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">outright ban<\/a> on homosexuality until about 10 years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Do his supporters even know that? How about his strong support for Palestine?
