During a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >recent press briefing<\/a>, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Carney&#8217;s decision to drop the tax represented a meaningful victory for the U.S. The tax, which would have imposed a 3% fee on revenues exceeding $20 million from U.S. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/uk-may-fine-tiktok-29-million-for-failing-to-protect-childrens-privacy\/\" title=\"UK may fine TikTok  million for failing to protect children\u2019s privacy\">companies providing digital services<\/a> to Canadian users, was seen as a retaliatory measure by Canada.
