This comes as part of the House Oversight Committee&#8217;s investigation into allegations of a cover-up regarding Biden&#8217;s cognitive decline and potential unauthorized executive actions during his presidency.Committee Chair James Comer asserts that the administration has misled the public about Biden&#8217;s fitness for office. In letters sent out, the committee has scheduled specific dates for the interviews and requested that the officials confirm their attendance. Previous attempts to subpoena a former Biden aide who refused to testify highlight the ongoing challenges the committee faces in it&#8217;s inquiry. According to Committee Chair James Comer, R-Ky., the requests are part of the body&rsquo;s &ldquo;aggressive investigation into the cover-up of [Biden&rsquo;s] cognitive decline and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >potentially unauthorized executive actions&#038;rdquo<\/a>; while serving as commander-in-chief.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-539820292\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&ldquo;President Biden&rsquo;s inner circle repeatedly told the American people that he was &lsquo;sharp as ever,&rsquo; dismissing any commentary about his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/nolte-two-thirds-of-voters-want-joe-biden-to-take-a-mental-fitness-test\/\" title=\"Nolte: Two...Thirds of Voters Want Joe Biden to Take a Mental Fitness Test\">obvious mental decline<\/a> as &lsquo;gratuitous.&rsquo; They fed these false talking points to progressive allies and the media, who helped perpetuate that President Biden was fit to serve,&rdquo; the Kentucky Republican said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>In their letter to Jean-Pierre, Oversight Republicans highlighted several <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/05\/19\/hes-as-sharp-as-ever-relive-karine-jean-pierres-worst-moments-covering-up-bidens-decline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">examples<\/a> of the former press secretary downplaying or dismissing times in which Biden showed signs of mental decline. In a press briefing following the Delaware Democrat&rsquo;s disastrous June 2024 <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/06\/28\/biden-just-put-on-the-most-disastrous-debate-performance-in-presidential-history\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">debate performance<\/a> against Donald Trump, for example, Jean-Pierre claimed Biden was &ldquo;as sharp as ever.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If White House staff carried out a strategy lasting months or even years to hide the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/czarbucks-fiscal-decisions-increasingly-influenced-by-unelected-officials-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Czarbucks: Fiscal decisions increasingly influenced by unelected officials ... Washington Examiner\">chief executive&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s condition &mdash; or to perform his duties &mdash; Congress may need to consider a legislative response,&rdquo; the letter reads. <\/p>\n<p><strong>[READ:[READ:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/05\/kjp-should-be-compelled-to-give-her-tell-all-about-bidens-decline-under-oath\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KJP Should Be Compelled To Give Her Tell-All About Biden&rsquo;s Decline Under Oath<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The committee has requested that the recipients of Friday&rsquo;s communiques appear for transcribed interviews on the following days: Sams on Aug. 11; Jean-Pierre on Aug. 18; Bates on Aug. 27; and Zients on Sept. 3. All former Biden officials are asked to notify the committee by July 4 whether they will voluntarily appear for interviews on their respective designated dates or if they will require a subpoena to &ldquo;compel&rdquo; their attendance.<\/p>\n<p>The committee additionally requested that, by July 4, Jean-Pierre and Co. provide an alternative date that falls within a week of their original interview date should said date not work for them.<\/p>\n<p>The issuance of Friday&rsquo;s letters came a day after the Oversight Committee <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/26\/house-gop-subpoenas-top-biden-aide-after-he-refused-to-testify-about-joes-decline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">subpoenaed<\/a> Anthony Bernal, a former aide to President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. <\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/25\/key-biden-adviser-refuses-to-testify-about-former-presidents-cognitive-decline\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, Bernal was originally slated to sit for a transcribed interview before the Oversight Committee on Thursday to discuss what he knew about efforts to conceal Biden&rsquo;s declining health from the American public.
