It was a grave threat to democracy, frankly, and instead of merely ruling on the immediate cases before them, these judges have attempted to dictate the law for the entire nation.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>For months, the White House and top Trump officials had raged against district judges for blocking the president&rsquo;s policies on immigration, social issues, and more.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is a decision that covers a tremendous amount of territory, but I want to just thank, again, the Supreme Court for this ruling,&rdquo; Trump said. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s giant, and they should be very proud, and our country should be very proud of the Supreme Court today.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump is responsible for nominating Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett to the court, but signs have percolated in recent months that the president has grown frustrated with the three conservatives for failing to rule in his favor.<\/p>\n<p>That frustration was absent, however, from Trump&rsquo;s comments. The president specifically thanked Coney Barrett for &ldquo;brilliantly&rdquo; authoring the opinion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/supreme-court\/3455997\/supreme-court-nationwide-injunctions-trump-birthright-citizenship-case\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>SUPREME COURT LIMITS NATIONWIDE INJUNCTIONS IN TRUMP BIRTHRIGHT CITIZENSHIP CASE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, Friday&rsquo;s ruling originally stemmed from a challenge to Trump&rsquo;s Day One executive order seeking to end birthright citizenship. The Supreme Court declined to directly comment on that case but rather on the general legality of nationwide injunctions.
