Tim Walz (D-MN) called a &ldquo;politically motivated&rdquo; attack.<\/p>\n<p>The chamber adopted the resolution,&nbsp;with 424 members voting &ldquo;yes,&rdquo;&nbsp;on Wednesday evening. The resolution, led by Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband. He is also the suspect in the failed assassination attempt of Democratic state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife.<\/p>\n<p>In the week since the shootings and amid the growing reality of political violence, congressional members are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3442684\/congress-security-lawmakers-minnesota-shootings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">eyeing ways to increase security<\/a> measures and protections. House Democrats have asked Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) to &ldquo;substantially increase&rdquo; members&rsquo; allowance to improve safety and security measures for each office.<\/p>\n<p>Johnson hasn&rsquo;t made any public declarations on whether he will direct additional security for members. But he has called for lawmakers to &ldquo;turn down the temperature&rdquo; in recent weeks over Democrats&rsquo; responses to President Donald Trump&rsquo;s immigration policies.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Several other acts of political violence have occurred within the last year, including multiple assassination attempts on Trump, an arson attack at Gov.
