\t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>Khalil, a former Columbia University graduate student who holds a green card &mdash; and is not a U.S. citizen &mdash; was previously detained by Trump officials who sought to deport him.<\/p>\n<p>After being set free, he promised to continue protesting against Israel and the war in Gaza, the Associated Press <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/mahmoud-khalil-columbia-palestine-released-4dfbe39870d107e77902a56857b3089a\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Far-left Democrat and Congressional &ldquo;Squad&rdquo; member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/JunkScience\/status\/1936626051515367517\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">stood in solidarity<\/a> with Khalil, declaring that he should benefit from the First Amendment while telling &ldquo;every American&rdquo; to be offended by his treatment.<\/p>\n<p>Newsflash: The United States government has absolutely zero obligation to extend the full rights of American citizens to a green card holder, who allegedly misrepresented himself on his application by omitting certain organizations he&rsquo;d been involved with.<\/p>\n<p>These omissions were enough for an immigration judge to rule that Khalil could be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trumps-post-takes-off-scotus-victory-let-deportations-begin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">deported<\/a>, especially given the letter Secretary of State Marco Rubio sent to the court, citing a provision in the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 to justify his removal, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/columbia-anti-israel-protester-mahmoud-khalil-can-deported-judge-rules\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">according<\/a> to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&rsquo;t the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-wasnt-first-order-middle-east-students-deported-potus-democratic-hero\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">first time<\/a> Middle Eastern students have been the target of deportation.<\/p>\n<p>During the 1979 Iranian hostage crisis, Democratic President Jimmy Carter took steps to deport Iranian students and established stricter regulations to vet them.<\/p>\n<p>A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtontimes.com\/news\/2025\/mar\/31\/deporting-foreign-students-middle-east-unrest-jimmy-carter-first\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report by<\/a> The Washington Times cited Carter&rsquo;s actions, some of which included ordering a deportation review of Iranian students, requiring all Iranian students to report to immigration officials, and reviewing the documentation status for each student.<\/p>\n<p>You don&rsquo;t see media outlets writing stories and spewing talking points about how Carter violated the First Amendment and denigrated the Constitution.<\/p>\n<p>In similar fashion to Trump, Carter invoked the Immigration and Nationality Act Section 241(a)(7), allowing for the deportation of aliens whose presence harms U.S. interests, and the courts upheld it.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s hypocritical to paint Carter as the patron saint of liberalism while slamming <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/nailed-30-years-ago-1995-trump-revealed-kind-people-cant-stand-forgotten-interview\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> for taking the exact same stance.<\/p>\n<p>America should be seeking doctors, thinkers, entrepreneurs, and innovators, but most importantly, patriots.<\/p>\n<p>It&rsquo;s suicide to allow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/bidens-insane-iran-policy-border-allowed-creation-potentially-hundreds-iranian-terror-cells\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">immigrants<\/a> into the country who claim to have an affinity for the U.S., but instead angrily dictate their list of demands once they get here.<\/p>\n<p>If someone like Khalil is causing trouble, and not helping the United States grow as a country, we simply cannot afford to take any chances.<\/p>\n<p>In this current climate of worldwide uncertainty, we should be focused exclusively on helping high achievers who love our way of life.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, we are giving every consideration and protection to those who despise the very country that welcomed them with open arms so they can take advantage of our benevolence and freedoms.<\/p>\n<div style=\"position: relative;\">\n<div class=\"ff-fancy-header-container\"> \t\t\t \t<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-submit-correction inner-content\">\n<div class=\"correction-form\">\n<form style=\"display: none;\">\n<div class=\"sc-name-field\"> \t\t\t\t\t\t<label>* Name<\/label> \t\t\t\t\t\t<br \/> \t\t\t\t\t\t<input type=\"text\" name=\"name\" required> \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<div class=\"sc--field\"> \t\t\t\t\t\t<label>* <\/label> \t\t\t\t\t\t<br \/> \t\t\t\t\t\t<input type=\"text\" name=\"\" required> \t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n<p> \t\t\t\t\t<label>* Message<\/label> \t\t\t\t\t<br \/> \t\t\t\t\t<textarea name=\"message\" required><\/textarea> \t\t\t\t\t \t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<div class=\"required-message\" style=\"display: none;
