The ceasefire is meant too be implemented in a phased manner over 24 hours, with the expectation that it would be welcomed globally. Trump praised Israel and Iran for their ability to end what he referred to as &#8220;THE 12 DAY WAR.&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>However, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi denied any agreements regarding a ceasefire, although he indicated that Iran would not retaliate if Israel ceased its attacks. According to Trump, the implementation of the truce &ldquo;will be saluted by the World.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,&rdquo; Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/WhiteHouse\/status\/1937275983603597473\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a> on Truth Social on Monday night. &ldquo;On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, &lsquo;THE 12 DAY WAR.&rsquo; <\/p>\n<p>In the wake of Trump&rsquo;s announcement, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/philipwegmann\/status\/1937312118035890342?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">claimed<\/a> there is &ldquo;NO &lsquo;agreement&rsquo; on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,&rdquo; a narrative corporate media such as <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MediasLies\/status\/1937287472121282723\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CNN<\/a> were quick to amplify. In the same post, however, Araghchi acknowledged that if Israel holds its fire, &ldquo;we have no intention to continue our response afterwards.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The news of a ceasefire comes shortly after the U.S. foiled Iran&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/06\/12\/world\/middleeast\/israel-iran-strikes.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">face-saving and pre-warned<\/a> ballistic missile attack on the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar.<\/p>\n<p>Trump noted in his declaration that the war could have &ldquo;could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn&rsquo;t, and never will!&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>His acknowledgement that escalation would not only harm his <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/21\/trump-addresses-u-s-following-attacks-on-irans-nuclear-facilities\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">original objective<\/a>, to &ldquo;stop the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >nuclear threat posed<\/a> by the world&rsquo;s No. 1 state sponsor of terror,&rdquo; but also wreak unwanted havoc on the other side of the world is a direct rebuke to neocon arguments that regime change in Iran is necessary and even good.<\/p>\n<p>As Federalist Senior Editor John Daniel Davidson <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/23\/whatever-happens-next-iran-doesnt-need-to-be-made-safe-for-democracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">noted<\/a> on Monday, before the ceasefire made headlines, &ldquo;The danger we face now, then, is twofold: not just retaliation from Iran and its terrorist proxies, but machinations by establishment neocons and our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/iran-doesnt-need-to-be-made-safe-for-democracy\/\" title=\"Iran Doesn\u2019t Need To Be Made Safe For Democracy\">corrupt intelligence apparatus<\/a> to embroil us in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/josh-hammer-the-end-of-the-unipolar-moment\/\" title=\"Josh Hammer: The ... of the Unipolar Moment\">regime-change war<\/a> in the Middle East.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If Trump wants truly to embrace a Jacksonian foreign policy and advance his America First agenda at home, he&rsquo;ll resist that temptation,&rdquo; Davidson warned. <\/p>\n<p>As it stands now, the man who ushered in the Abraham Accords during his first term appears to have successfully warded off yet another war in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!&rdquo; Trump concluded his post. <\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>      Jordan Boyd is a staff writer at The Federalist and producer of The Federalist Radio Hour.
