meaning, he&rsquo;s a criminal &mdash; and knows that when she orders the release he&rsquo;ll be immediately apprehended by immigration authorities.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. Magistrate Judge Barbara Holmes on Sunday ruled that the Trump administration had failed to prove that Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran national, was a likely flight risk or threat to the public in the run-up to his human trafficking trial. She <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/abrego-garcia-deportation-error-c0a515baffdf54baba412edf4cdbd310\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acknowledged<\/a>, however, that Immigration and Customs Enforcement would obviously take him into custody the second he&rsquo;s released from jail, calling her own decision &ldquo;little more than an academic exercise.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1120430620\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Recall that Abrego Garcia been already <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/04\/16\/democrats-drop-everything-to-bring-back-a-deported-illegal-alien\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">deported to his home country<\/a>, only for a Democrat-appointed judge to laughably order that the government <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/04\/turn-this-new-york-times-immigration-story-inside-out-and-its-perfect\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">re-import him<\/a> to the U.S. That&rsquo;s despite him having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c1k4072e3nno\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">admitted<\/a> he is not a legal resident, having been identified by authorities as a violent Latin gang affiliate &mdash;&nbsp;a suspicion affirmed by a judge &mdash;&nbsp;and having been accused <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dhs.gov\/news\/2025\/04\/30\/dhs-reveals-second-domestic-abuse-filing-filed-kilmar-abrego-garcias-wife\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">multiple times<\/a> by his wife of physical abuse.<\/p>\n<p>This is the person Barbara Holmes has deemed an unlikely threat to the public and therefore suitable for release from jail while he awaits prosecution for human trafficking. The ruling is another absurd delivery from the Democrats&rsquo; final method of thwarting the 2024 election &mdash; federal judges (formerly known as &ldquo;the American judiciary&rdquo;). <\/p>\n<p>That she called it &ldquo;little more than an academic exercise&rdquo; is everything you need to know. Holmes doesn&rsquo;t take the issue &mdash; literally one of life and death &mdash;&nbsp;seriously. Or, more infuriating, she does, and her view is the anti-American one of no borders and more crime. It&rsquo;s not like that&rsquo;s a particularly uncommon one among leftist judges.<\/p>\n<p>The Trump administration has appealed the judge&rsquo;s decision, though at some point, these rulings aren&rsquo;t worthy of being dignified with rebuttals. We&rsquo;re long past that point, and as the elected executor to uphold the law, President Trump&rsquo;s duty is to ensure that the homeland is secure and threats to public safety are either incarcerated or removed. A judge can&rsquo;t be permitted to block a core function of our government&rsquo;s constitution.<\/p>\n<p>Abrego Garcia is a criminal.
