On May 20, when Demita arrived at the daycare, she noticed her baby was screaming uncontrollably and seemed disoriented. Following a visit to the hospital, doctors confirmed the presence of meth in Dean&#8217;s system, with indications that he ingested it while at the daycare. The Mississippi Department of Health fined the daycare for failing to report the incident but coudl not confirm that Dean was exposed to meth there. The daycare director speculated that the drug might have come from a visitor&#8217;s shoe. Despite the daycare&#8217;s lack of cameras and <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >previous abuse complaints<\/a>,investigations are ongoing. In response to the situation, Demita has decided not to return Dean to any daycare, choosing rather to bring him to work. I&rsquo;m talking about blood curling screams,&rdquo; Demita said. &ldquo;It was one of the worst things I&rsquo;ve ever seen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Demita and her husband, Johnathon, drove the baby to the Children&rsquo;s of Mississippi hospital in Jackson, Mississippi, where doctors ran a number of diagnostics, including a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/biden-called-upon-take-drug-test-ahead-debate-american-people-deserve-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">drug test<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A week later, the parents learned the baby tested positive for <a href=\"https:\/\/medlineplus.gov\/methamphetamine.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">methamphetamine<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Not only that, but Dean had ingested the drug on May 20, between noon and 4:00 p.m. &mdash; the same time he was at the day care.<\/p>\n<p>The Mississippi Department of Health fined Little Blessings $50 after its director, Lisa Martin, didn&rsquo;t report the incident.<\/p>\n<p>But the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/usaid-given-mere-minutes-to-clear-out-elons-cracking-down\/\" title=\"USAID Given Mere Minutes to Clear Out: Elon\u2019s Cracking Down\">agency couldn&#038;rsquo<\/a>;t verify that Dean had been exposed to the meth while at the day care.<\/p>\n<p>Martin told the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/rfk-jr-fires-every-last-member-biden-appointed-cdc-advisory-committee\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">health department<\/a>&nbsp;that Dean&rsquo;s exposure to meth may have been residue from some visitor&rsquo;s shoe.<\/p>\n<p>Going forward, Martin said she would require anyone entering the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/disturbing-former-day-care-worker-arrested-hit-with-51-child-abuse-charges\/\" title=\"Disturbing: Former ... Worker Arrested, Hit with 51 Child Abuse Charges\">day care&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s infant area to wear shoe coverings.<\/p>\n<p>Adding to the day care&rsquo;s culpability, however, police learned the facility didn&rsquo;t have cameras in its rooms.<\/p>\n<p>And in recent years, the Mississippi Department of Health had received abuse complaints against the day care.<\/p>\n<p>One complaint alleged that the employees would lock the children in dark rooms.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;They hit children on the hands and butts and grab them very roughly,&rdquo; a former Little Blessings employee said in a 2023 complaint to the Mississippi Department of Health.<\/p>\n<p>The health department and police are still investigating the meth incident.<\/p>\n<p>In the meantime, Demita brings her son to work.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m taking it day by day,&rdquo; Demita said. &ldquo;I know he won&rsquo;t be going back to a day care.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Demita&rsquo;s story isn&rsquo;t the only instance of children being exposed to meth at a day care.<\/p>\n<p>In December 2024, a Minnesota day care temporarily shut down after a 3-year-old boy ingested methamphetamine, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox9.com\/news\/dhs-suspends-daycare-license-south-st-paul-council-member-pam-bakken\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KMSP-TV<\/a> in St. Paul, Minnesota.<\/p>\n<p>In a 2023 incident, a Missouri day care director lost her job because she allegedly was in possession of meth, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/fox2now.com\/news\/fox-files\/daycare-director-accused-of-exposing-children-to-meth-asks-for-mercy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KTVI-TV<\/a> in St. Louis.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators reportedly found the methamphetamine in the director&rsquo;s purse and in the infant room of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/former-day-care-worker-arrested-hit-51-child-abuse-charges-police-investigate-disturbing-incident\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">day care<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s sickening, the world that we&rsquo;re in.
