Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter announced this development during their visit to the Paris Air Show. Currently, Howmet Aerospace employs about 1,000 individuals in Hamblen County and had previously added 50 jobs the prior year. Bill Lee and Department of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Economic<\/a> and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter said Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>Howmet Aerospace employs 1,000 people in Hamblen County. One of the meetings on this trip is with Orano USA, which announced plans in September to build a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >multi-billion dollar uranium enrichment facility<\/a> in Oak Ridge, according to a release. The company&rsquo;s headquarters is in France.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3441213\/abrego-garcia-pleads-not-guilty-to-human-smuggling-charges\/\" title=\"\">ABREGO GARCIA PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO HUMAN SMUGGLING CHARGES<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In the last two years, we have tracked commitments made in Tennessee as a direct result of meetings held during our international trips,&rdquo;&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecentersquare.com\/tennessee\/article_528670b3-0180-45de-a289-10dc28fe0566.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">McWhorter said previously.<\/a>&nbsp;&ldquo;I am proud to share that 1,200 new jobs have been created and nearly $270 million has been invested by companies we have visited abroad like Schneider Electric, Landmark Ceramics and Howmet Aerospace.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>They traveled to the show in 2023 as part of a trip to Paris and Bologna, Italy.
