The poll, which surveyed 1,512 U.S. adults, reveals that large majorities across political parties-53% of Republicans, 65% of Democrats, and 61% of Independents-are against intervention. Additionally, 50% of respondents view Iran as an enemy, while only 24% consider its nuclear program a serious threat. Despite public sentiment against military engagement, former President Trump has intensified his rhetoric towards Iran, warning of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/rebekah-koffler-americas-spy-agencies-failed-to-protect-us-from-chinas-bio-warfare-program\/\" title=\"Rebekah Koffler: America\u2019s Spy Agencies Failed To Protect Us From China\u2019s Bio-Warfare Program\">potential strikes<\/a>. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>A new poll released Tuesday reveals just 16 percent of Americans want to get involved in the Israel-Iran war.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/d3nkl3psvxxpe9.cloudfront.net\/documents\/econtoplines_TRp1rqi.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">poll<\/a>, conducted earlier this week by The Economist and analytics group YouGov, found 16 percent of Americans think the &ldquo;U.S. military should get involved in the conflict between Israel and Iran;&rdquo; 60 percent say it should not, and 24 percent are &ldquo;not sure.&rdquo; When split among party lines, 53 percent of Republicans, 65 percent of Democrats, and 61 percent of Independents oppose intervention in Iran, <a href=\"https:\/\/today.yougov.com\/politics\/articles\/52380-donald-trump-approval-israel-iran-ice-immigration-protests-vaccines-robert-f-kennedy-jr-june-13-16-2025-economistyougov-poll\">according<\/a> to YouGov.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1053924667\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Fifty percent of Americans &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/today.yougov.com\/politics\/articles\/52380-donald-trump-approval-israel-iran-ice-immigration-protests-vaccines-robert-f-kennedy-jr-june-13-16-2025-economistyougov-poll\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">view Iran as an enemy to the U.S.<\/a>,&rdquo; while 25 percent call the nation &ldquo;unfriendly,&rdquo; according to the poll. The poll also found that only 24 percent of Americans think Iran&rsquo;s nuclear program is an &ldquo;immediate and serious threat to the U.S.&rdquo; When asked to select which strategies the U.S. should &ldquo;employ to get Iran to limit its nuclear program,&rdquo; only 18 percent said America should &ldquo;threaten Iran with the use of military force.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The poll also found that 41 percent of Americans disapprove of the way Trump is handling Iran, while 44 percent disapprove of how he is handling Israel.<\/p>\n<p>The poll was conducted between June 13-16 amongst 1,512 U.S. adults with a +\/- 3.3 percent margin of error. <\/p>\n<p>The data comes days after Israel launched missile strikes against Iran, <a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/iran-explosions-israel-tehran-00234a06e5128a8aceb406b140297299\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">targeting<\/a> its nuclear sites. Israel, however, did not strike the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant &ldquo;which is believed to be capable of producing a nuclear warhead in as little as two to three days, according to the Institute for Science and International Security &mdash; likely because Israel does not possess the military capabilities it would take to strike the Fordow facility,&rdquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/world\/only-us-military-can-take-out-irans-most-dangerous-nuclear-site\">Fox News<\/a> reported. Mark Dubowitz, the CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, indicated to the outlet<strong> <\/strong>that the United States <em>does<\/em> have the capacity to take out the Fordow facility from the air.<\/p>\n<p>Iran has launched a series of retaliatory airstrikes into Israel, with at least 24 being killed and minor damage caused to a Tel Aviv U.S. Embassy branch, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/live-news\/israel-iran-tel-aviv-tehran-airstrikes-middle-east-tensions-escalate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>In apparent conflict with Americans&rsquo; desire to avoid getting involved, Trump has recently escalated his rhetoric toward Iran.<strong> <\/strong>In a series of Truth Social posts, Trump threatened the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-viral-x-image-does-not-show-israeli-settlers-trying-to-tear-palestinian-child-apart\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Viral X Image Does Not Show Israeli Settlers Trying To Tear Palestinian Child Apart\">country&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,<strong> <\/strong>and <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/114699610769479275\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warned<\/a> that &ldquo;Our patience is wearing thin.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We know exactly where the so-called &lsquo;Supreme Leader&rsquo; is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there &ndash; We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now. But we don&rsquo;t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/114699621000737127\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a> minutes later, calling for &ldquo;UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Late Tuesday morning, Trump also <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/114699514822488706\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a> that &ldquo;We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Brianna Lyman is an elections correspondent at The Federalist.
