Following a recent labor report from the Department of Labor, which noted rising wages and a significant decrease in immigrant workers, the piece argues that the president’s deportation strategy is effectively boosting earnings for American workers. Even though notable media outlets like the washington Post did not directly link deportations to wage growth, some commentators, such as Andrew Arthur from the Center for Immigration Studies, assert that self-deportation encouraged by Trump’s management is leading to higher wages as businesses compete for a smaller pool of workers. The article contrasts these outcomes with the employment situation under former President Joe Biden, highlighting the successes attributed to Trump’s policies in creating jobs specifically for native-born americans. Moreover,recent job reports suggest that jobs created during Trump’s administration have primarily benefited this demographic,showcasing a reversal of trends seen in prior administrations.

    Read more…

The nexus of President Donald Trump’s immigration and economic policies rests on a simple and sensible premise.

In short, when you deport illegal immigrants, native-born American workers will see their wages rise.

Sure enough, according to The Washington Post, the Labor Department’s May jobs report, released earlier this month, showed both an increase in wages and a substantial decline in the immigrant labor force, due in part to border czar Tom Homan’s execution of the president’s deportation plan.

“Average hourly wages accelerated, rising by 0.4 percent over the month, to $36.24 in May, as earnings continue to beat inflation in a boost to workers’ spending power,” the Post wrote.

Of course, the establishment news outlet did not want to draw an explicit connection between deportations and higher wages. the Post added.

Meanwhile, in a New York Post Op-Ed on Sunday, Andrew Arthur of the Center for Immigration Studies cited the Washington Post’s story as proof that one crucial prong of Trump’s deportation plan — namely, encouraging illegal immigrants to self-deport — has proven highly effective.

“In other words, with fewer illegal immigrants, businesses have had to raise wages to attract workers,” Arthur wrote.

“But aliens will only leave if they believe Trump and Homan are serious about arrests, and employers know the feds are targeting shady businesses,” Arthur wrote.

Indeed, last week, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided a meat-packing plant in Omaha, Nebraska, netting 76 illegal immigrants.

While the Washington Post chose not to highlight the economic benefits of deportations, the Trump administration, including Steven Miran, chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, did not hesitate to draw the connection between deportations and robust job growth that benefits Americans.

“The president is succeeding in creating hundreds of thousands of jobs since he came into office — more than half a million jobs since he came into office — and they’re all going to native-born Americans,” Miran said earlier this month, following the release of the May jobs report.

In a statement, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer also touted the May jobs numbers.

“For too long, burdensome regulations and failed policies sold out blue-collar workers and shipped mortgage-paying jobs overseas. Now, thanks to President Trump’s bold America First agenda, 508,000 jobs have been created since he took office. Notably, native-born workers have accounted for all job gains,” she wrote.

Note, too, Chavez-DeRemer’s reference to rising wages. She celebrated not only jobs, but “mortgage-paying jobs.”

What a contrast between Trump’s early numbers and those of his predecessor. Indeed, former President Joe Biden’s economy worked almost exclusively for the benefit of illegal immigrants.

For instance, the Biden administration’s August 2024 jobs report showed that since August 2023, foreign-born workers had netted 1.2 million jobs, while native-born workers had lost 1.3 million jobs.

Now, simply by enforcing immigration laws and encouraging self-deportation, the Trump administration has reversed that catastrophe.

In short, the establishment media will always bury the good news about deportations and wages. But Trump’s plan has worked.

       * Name

       *

      * Message

* All fields are required.

Success!

       function firefly_sc() { if( typeof window.captchaPublicKey==typeof undefined ){ console.error('window.captchaPublicKey is not defined'); } grecaptcha.execute( window.captchaPublicKey, { action: 'submit_correction' } ).then( function( token ) { var opts={ action: 'firefly_sc_submit', name: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="name"]' ).value, : document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name=""]' ).value, message: document.querySelector( '.entry-submit-correction [name="message"]' ).value, post_id: firefly_post_id, cap_token: token } var inputs=[ 'name', '', 'message' ]; for( var i=0; i <inputs.length; i++ ) if( ! The Washington Post reported that the Labor Department’s May jobs report indicated wage growth alongside a significant drop in the immigrant workforce, partly due to the implementation of Trump’s deportation plan by border czar Tom Homan. The report noted an increase in average hourly wages, which rose by 0.4 percent to $36.24 in May, enhancing workers’ purchasing power despite inflation. However, the article refrained from explicitly linking deportations to wage increases and instead mentioned a “weakening labor supply” caused by immigrants leaving the job market.

Additionally, over one million foreign-born workers have left their jobs since March. In an Op-Ed for the New York Post, Andrew Arthur from the Center for Immigration Studies referenced this data as evidence that one key aspect of Trump’s deportation strategy-encouraging self-deportation among illegal immigrants-is working effectively. He pointed out that businesses are compelled to raise wages due to fewer illegal immigrants available for work but emphasized that this trend relies on employers believing in serious enforcement actions against undocumented workers.

Last week, ICE conducted a raid at a meat-packing facility in Omaha, Nebraska, resulting in 76 arrests of illegal immigrants. While mainstream media like The Washington Post did not highlight the economic advantages of these deportations, members of Trump’s administration openly connected them with job growth benefiting American citizens. Steven Miran from the Council of Economic Advisers stated that since taking office, Trump has created over half a million jobs exclusively for native-born Americans.

Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer also praised May’s job statistics and highlighted rising wages linked to “mortgage-paying jobs,” contrasting sharply with former President Joe Biden’s record where foreign-born workers gained significantly more jobs than native ones during his tenure.

In summary, while mainstream media may downplay positive outcomes related to deportations and wage increases under Trump’s policies, evidence suggests these measures have been effective

[33651
57335,36446,36382,36205,32640
post-2448483","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-the-western-journal","tag-american-wages","tag-economic-growth","tag-immigration-policy","tag-labor-market","tag-trump-administration
["GET
