The U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Northern District of Georgia announced that Forney made threats over the phone, leaving voicemails that included violent language aimed at Cruz and his family, as well as similar threats against Fischer the following day.U.S. Attorney Theodore S.Hertzberg condemned these actions as threats against democracy. The indictment is part of a broader initiative by the Trump Justice Department called &#8220;Operation Take Back America.&#8221; Forney&#8217;s case comes shortly after another incident involving a man charged with attempting to murder state lawmakers, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >highlighting ongoing concerns<\/a> about political violence. return false;\" title=\"Printer Friendly, PDF &amp; Email\"><span id=\"printfriendly-text2\" class=\"pf-button-text\"><i class=\"mdi mdi-printer\" aria-hidden=\"true\"><\/i><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n<p>A Georgia man was arraigned in federal court on Monday on charges related to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/blm-activist-ruined-white-students-life-with-bogus-allegation-she-threatened-to-kill-protesters\/\" title=\"BLM Activist Ruined White Student\u2019s Life With Bogus Allegation She Threatened to Kill Protesters\">allegedly making threats<\/a> against two GOP senators and their families. <\/p>\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/usao-ndga\/pr\/duluth-man-indicted-threatening-two-us-senators-and-their-families\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">press release<\/a> issued by the U.S. Attorney&rsquo;s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, 25-year-old Robert Davis Forney was indicted by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/missouri-man-charged-with-threatening-to-murder-2-us-congressmen\/\" title=\"Missouri Man Charged With Threatening to Murder 2 US Congressmen\">federal grand jury<\/a> on June 10 on &ldquo;charges of communicating threats in interstate commerce.&rdquo; The threats were purportedly aimed at Sens. Ted Cruz of Texas and Deb Fischer of Nebraska.<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1514055519\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Duluth resident allegedly twice called Cruz&rsquo;s office on Jan. 9 and &ldquo;left voicemails in which he threatened sexual violence against Senator Cruz and the senator&rsquo;s family.&rdquo; He allegedly took similar actions the next day targeting Fischer, according to prosecutors.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Threatening our elected officials and their families is an act of violence that undermines our entire democracy,&rdquo; U.S. Attorney Theodore S. Hertzberg said in a statement.&nbsp;&ldquo;Political discourse and disagreements never justify resorting to vile attacks against our nation&rsquo;s leaders.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Attorney General Pam Bondi <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox5atlanta.com\/news\/interim-u-s-attorney-northern-district-georgia-named\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">appointed<\/a> Hertzberg as interim U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Georgia office last month. <\/p>\n<p>According to the presser, the indictment against Forney came as part of the Trump Justice Department&rsquo;s &ldquo;Operation Take Back America.&rdquo; The initiative, as described by a March DOJ <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/dag\/media\/1393746\/dl?inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a>, seeks to use resources from the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and the Project Safe Neighborhood Program to &ldquo;implement core policy objectives established by President Trump and the Attorney General.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>This list of objectives includes priorities such as &ldquo;Repelling The Invasion Of Illegal Immigration,&rdquo; &ldquo;Achieving Total Elimination Of Cartels And Transnational Criminal Organizations,&rdquo; &ldquo;Establishing Homeland Security Task Forces,&rdquo; and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-york-city-clamps-down-on-fossil-fuels-via-esg-in-defiance-of-national-gop-blowback\/\" title=\"NYC tackles fossil fuels with ESG despite GOP opposition.\">related policy goals<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>Forney&rsquo;s arraignment came a day after a 57-year-old Minnesota man was detained and charged by law enforcement with the alleged murder and attempted murder of two state lawmakers and their spouses.<\/p>\n<p>As The Federalist&rsquo;s Jordan Boyd <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/06\/16\/dems-lecture-about-political-violence-after-years-of-leftist-threats-attacks-and-assassination-attempts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>, &ldquo;The story is still developing and has yielded plenty of unanswered questions about Vance Boelter&rsquo;s background,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/redsteeze\/status\/1934473742316671065\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">living situation<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2025\/06\/15\/us-news\/what-are-vance-luther-boelter-politics-alleged-minnesota-assassin-was-appointed-by-tim-walz-voted-for-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apparent re-appointment<\/a>&nbsp;to a workforce development board by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz. The consensus so far, however, is that his motives for allegedly assassinating at least one Democrat legislator and her husband, as well as targeting another Democrat and his wife were no doubt radical and most likely political.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Democrats and their media allies have since used the tragedy to lecture Republicans about &ldquo;political violence&rdquo; &mdash; despite the fact that, as Boyd noted, &ldquo;It&rsquo;s Democrats &hellip; who have spent the better part of a decade calling for literal violence against their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/09\/14\/democrat-senator-calls-for-literal-violence-against-pro-lifers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">political enemies<\/a>. &hellip;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\">\n<div class=\"article-author-description fst-italic\">      Shawn Fleetwood is a staff writer for The Federalist and a graduate of the University of Mary Washington.
