Relieved Of Duty For Slamming Military Leadership\">top military leadership<\/a> and crippled its nuclear program.<\/p>\n<p>However, even with that, it was pretty difficult to see this one coming: Even Tehran&rsquo;s own terror <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/report-u-s-college-groups-have-assisted-a-designated-terrorist-org\/\" title=\"Report: U.S. College Groups Have Assisted A Designated Terrorist Org\">proxy groups<\/a> aren&rsquo;t lending a hand to the Shi&rsquo;a state.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement after the Israeli attacks on Iran early Friday morning, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/ap-iran-revolutionary-guard-general-died-israeli-strike-killed-hezbollah-leader-reports-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Lebanese-based group<\/a> announced it would not be attacking Israel in order to support the Iranians.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Hezbollah will not initiate its own attack on Israel in retaliation for Israel&rsquo;s strikes,&rdquo; \t\t\t\t}); \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>However, this paragraph was telling: &ldquo;The statement makes no mention of whether Hezbollah intends to respond to the strike.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>To which the answer seems to be: No.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/hezbollah-leaders-killed-israeli-air-strike-beirut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hezbollah&rsquo;s<\/a> leader, Naim Qassem, issued a similarly vague statement, saying that the attacks were &ldquo;dangerous and criminal Israeli aggression, supported by the U.S. administration, against the Islamic Republic of Iran.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It will not pass without a response and punishment,&rdquo; Qassem said, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/livecoverage\/israel-iran-strike-conflict\/card\/lebanese-army-wants-to-avoid-conflict-with-israel-official-says-717RNtPPlW8JzXTUDxt8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Wall Street Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But again, there was language in the article that made people doubt how much that Hezbollah would do in response.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Lebanon&rsquo;s army earlier said it was communicating with the Iranian-backed militia to avoid the country being drawn into conflict with Israel,&rdquo; the Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/top-german-general-calls-reinstate-compulsory-service\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">German<\/a> state broadcaster <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dw.com\/en\/lebanon-hezbollahs-armed-wing-lingers-at-a-crossroads\/a-72895394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Deutsche Welle<\/a>, Heiko Wimmen, project director of Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon at the International Crisis Group, said that this could mean the old &ldquo;rulebooks have changed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The previous rule was that when Iran is attacked on its territory, it retaliates from its territory,&rdquo; Wimmen said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Hezbollah could be waiting for a clear call to action from Iran,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>However, other analysts felt that after last year&rsquo;s conflict with Israel, Hezbollah might be so diminished that they simply can&rsquo;t respond.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Another reason for Hezbollah&rsquo;s radio silence is that they could have decided to prioritize internal restructuring,&rdquo; Wimmen said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Also, nobody really knows for sure what happened to those strategic missiles that Hezbollah supposedly had but never really used against Israel in last year&rsquo;s war.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Hezbollah, which is one of the most prominent hardline groups in troubled Lebanon, was founded in the wake of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/expelled-us-college-pro-hamas-protests-iranian-university-offer\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Iranian revolution in 1979<\/a> and has remained the mullahs&rsquo; <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\" >favorite terror proxy<\/a>, especially due to its proximity to Israel.<\/p>\n<p>However, last year&rsquo;s loss compounded with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/middle-east\/20250208-lebanon-forms-new-government-after-two-years-political-stalemate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new government<\/a> in Lebanon that seeks to reassert control over the country &mdash; and doesn&rsquo;t see Hezbollah as helpful in that department for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fox-host-targeted-by-libs-after-they-invent-perverted-misinterpretation-of-innocuous-comments-about-kamala\/\" title=\"Fox Host Targeted by Libs After They Invent Perverted Misinterpretation of Innocuous Comments About Kamala\">obvious reasons &#038;mdash<\/a>; and Hezbollah might not be in a place where it even&nbsp;<em>can<\/em> retaliate. That&rsquo;s been compounded by the fact much of its leadership was taken out in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-breaks-loose-cnn-conservatives-response-pro-palestinian-panelist\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">daring beeper attack by Israel<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the rest of the Middle East is silently cheering on Israel, because they may not be rooting for the Jewish state as a general rule but they find it preferable to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-responds-reports-claim-ready-give-iran-will-not-allow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Tehran having a nuclear weapon<\/a>.
