ICE protests - Washington Examiner\">manage violent protests<\/a> against ICE&#8217;s deportation efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Governor newsom had previously sued the Trump administration, arguing that the president&#8217;s assumption of control over the National Guard exceeded his authority without the necesary consent from the state. U.S. District Judge Charles breyer had ruled earlier in the day that the deployment was illegal and in violation of the Tenth Amendment. Gavin Newsom.
