Grubbs, while speaking to conservative talk show host John Fredericks, specifically mentioned the historical lack of success for female candidates in the state, referencing the failed campaigns of Kelly Loeffler and Karen Handel for statewide offices. Her comments prompted backlash from other Republican women, including Courtney Kramer, who argued that the party should encourage more female candidates rather than discouraging them. Kylie Jane Kremer, executive director of Women for America First, criticized Grubbs for her sexist views and claimed her remarks undermine support for women within the party. In defense of her statements, Grubbs pointed to past election outcomes as evidence for her beliefs on the challenges female candidates face in Georgia.

Georgia GOP scoffs at vice chair who says women can’t win statewide

Georgia GOP vice chairwoman Salleigh Grubbs, who was elected to the position last week, shared with conservative talk show host John Fredericks that she doesn’t think a woman would be able to win a statewide election.

“As a woman, I don’t think that a woman is going to be able to do it,” Grubbs said. “If you’re Kelly Loeffler, and of course, 2020 was a situation that was very different at the time, but I don’t see a female governor and I don’t see a female senator from Georgia.”

Recommended Stories

Pat Fallon rails against Tim Walz likening ICE agents to ‘Gestapo’

FCC ‘looking into’ blackout of C-SPAN on YouTube, Hulu, other streaming outlets

Tulsi Gabbard: Democrats do not care about ‘paid protesters’ in LA

Gov.
