This is slightly higher than April&rsquo;s 2.3 percent increase, but is still significantly lower than the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bls.gov\/charts\/consumer-price-index\/consumer-price-index-by-category-line-chart.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">five percent<\/a> May year-over-year increase during Biden&rsquo;s first year in office. May&rsquo;s monthly increase of 0.1 percent is also down from April&rsquo;s 0.2 percent increase. Nonetheless, the outlet still insisted the CPI report &ldquo;was lightly pockmarked with potential indications of price hikes.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, NPR <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/06\/10\/nx-s1-5428560\/wall-street-ceos-five-stages-of-tariff-grief\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">published<\/a> an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/leftists-accuse-gorsuch-of-caring-too-much-about-normal-people\/\" title=\"Leftists Accuse Gorsuch Of Caring Too Much About Normal People\">article titled &#038;ldquo<\/a>;Wall Street CEOs are cycling through the five stages of tariff grief.&rdquo; The article warned about &ldquo;the potential loss of America&rsquo;s superpower status&rdquo; and claimed the &ldquo;tariff tug-of-war is already hiking prices for both consumers and businesses.&rdquo; However, NPR appeared to do an about-face on Wednesday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2025\/06\/11\/nx-s1-5429597\/inflation-tariffs-cpi-economy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reporting<\/a> that &ldquo;President Trump&rsquo;s tariffs have so far not had a big effect on the prices that American shoppers pay.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/abcnews.go.com\/Business\/inflation-expected-ticked-higher-amid-trump-tariffs\/story?id=122648311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ABC<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/c62vyr0d07po\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BBC<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2025\/jun\/11\/may-inflation-trump-tariffs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Guardian<\/a> each ran headlines that inflation was a little higher than last month, downplaying the fact that April&rsquo;s rate was the lowest it&rsquo;s been since 2021. <\/p>\n<p>Despite that, Rep.
